Hey guys, just joined the forum, I have been lurking for awhile now.

I just purchased a 2008 A4 S-Line 6spd with 160km

The bottom end seized apparently due to a lack of oil lubrication? Clogged pickup/oil pump maybe?

Anyway, I have already purchased a used engine with about the same amount of KM, but it is from a 2006.

After searching here and throughout the web I have just ordered a few things,

Timing Belt kit, Timing chain & tensioner, Cam follower, Coolant flange, Rear main seal, Oil pickup tube (new style), Diverter valve (new style) and a clutch kit because I am unsure of the condition of the current one.

Not sure if I have missed anything I need to do before putting the engine in? Or If I should be swapping anything over from my 08 engine to the 06 motor?

All advice is appreciated,

Thanks!

My valve cover gasket went at about 130k kms, and it's pretty easy to do.

Since you have coolant and oil out. I would do the oil filter housing. Beat the xmas rush on the leak.

Valve covet gasket, tune up = plugs and coils. Pcv valve and N80. And if you can coolant flange will cause headaches. Oh forgot to mention the disaster follower (cam follower) haha

Also may be worthwhile to do a carbon cleaning. You pretty much nailed everything else.

Maybe just me but i would not do coils or vc gasket as PM. Since you have the engine out with good access the other things make sense. Maybe even motor mounts and T stat as they are unreliable and cheap and you have coolant out.
I have re-used my vc gasket 3 times with zero leaks. And is a 15 minute job. The coils even less time.
Just my opinion tho
