I have this which allows my cell phone to start/lock/locate my car.

My old unit was 2G and that was shut off in Canada so they shipped me a 3G unit. It's a simple swap, but I have to find where the hell they might have mounted it. The place that installed it is no longer in business.

Can't see anything obvious under the dash. It's pretty small, slightly bigger than the keyfob.

Ideas? It's a longshot, but figured I'd try.

Have you looked in the sides of the dash where the fuse blocks are?

That unit is typically high up in the dash somewhere as it needs to be able to communicate with its network. I don’t think it would be under the dash, check fuse panel on the side, glove box, up under by pedals.

There's an antenna on the windshield, so not sure. Nothing obvious from the fuse boxes.

Appreciate the help.

Behind glove box? Remember, an installer is going to worry less about the "ideal" location, and more about the easiest and quickest place to put it.

Kind of like me in college after some beers...

I want to check behind the glove box. How do I remove it?

I installed my Viper SmartStart under the steering column near the fuse box, high as possible. Just secured it with zip ties. Haven't had a reception issue ever.

Your brain will be in the same spot. Not on the passenger side or near the glovebox as you need to hide a spare key and this needs to be rather close to the ignition.
Loosen the 10mm bolts under your steering column and you'll see it. If not post a photo and I'll point it out.
If you're not comfortable doing so, a 12 volt shop would only charge about an hour.
Where you located?
