Hi Everyone,
I've had 2014 Monsoon Grey S4 for over 5 years now and I'm getting bored of the alu-optic look that came with the car. I've decided to convert it (mostly) to black optics - going to swap out for an OEM black optics grille, vinyl wrap the window trim in glossy black, and change out my wheels. Going to leave the side mirrors because I like the look.
The one thing I don't know what to do with are the aluminum colored side blades. Once I change the window trim to black and the wheels to something darker, the side blades won't match. Here are my options:
- leave as is
- wrap them in black vinyl (or some other color) - but it won't match the body. Would this look okay? Has anyone out there had success wrapping the blades?
- buy new blades and get them repainted to match the body. (obviously most expensive)
Thanks in advance for any input!

I would do the gloss black vinyl like the window trim. I have a phantom black car with alu side blades so I like how they give some contrast as is. I think the black blades would do the same for your grey car.
I’ve already wrapped my window trim and think it would be pretty easy to do the blades.

I watched this wizard about 100 times to see his technique for going around a curve. By the time I was done I had that horrible song on replay in my head

It’s really not hard. Get a little tool kit like this:

Also, I tried two different brands of vinyl. The shadowline trim brand I found to be really hard to work with unless you keep constant heat on it. The vvivid brand off Amazon was much easier to apply without any flaws.
