I have a 2006 with an unhealthy engine. It is going to need a cam, chain and tensioner, and a bunch of other parts. That would be about $1000 in for all the parts and specialty tools and Even that might not be guaranteed fix.

So...
I want to start fresh. I can get a complete engine from a 2008 with 25,000 miles for $2000 shipped. It comes with the original turbo and everything else. What else am I going to need to complete the swap?
I have all the tools necessary but besides that is there anything special i need?

yeah pretty good deal. it has been sitting for a while but supposedly it had came from a vehicle that was rear ended early in its life. I think with a basic tuneup I could have an almost brand new engine. 2008 has the updated cam as well [race]

Updated cam - good, but you will still need to check your cam follower regularly.

Also make sure its from a manual if yours is a manual, there are differences manual to auto in the crank
