Just purchased this 08 B7 Avant S Line with 138,xxxKM on it. After owning a Golf Wagon that had been caught up in the diesel scandal and selling it back for the same I paid for it 4 years ago I just couldn't stay away from the German wagons apparently. Over the past three days I have read every "issue" post in this section so i'm just checking to see if I missed anything.

Details on the car:
08 Avant S Line
138,xxxkm
Bone stock as far as I can tell.

Luckily I have a friend who was able to pull up all the service records of the previous two owners up to 120,000km which were all performed at the dealership. This includes a stage 3 engine replacement to the tune of 13k at the dealer for oil consumption issues at the 90k mileage mark. Since I don't know the last 18k in services I plan on doing all this to start fresh:

you are also due for a timing belt kit if it has not been done ... id be getting on that one right away. the one on there is 10 years old regardless of mileage. But then again I would have hoped one came with the new engine so scratch that ..

The plastic coolant flange comment made me laugh .. they love to leak once you think everything is done..

Thanks for the response! Ya timing belt should have only 50k on it or 5 year according to the records.

Save some money before you start buying mods: if you plan on modding your car. I'm sure you know from your Golf ownership, but German cars require a lot of maintenance and are not cheap to fix. Make sure you have enough money to keep it on the road before spicing the car up. Either way; you're going to love this car. Good luck!

Not planning on modding this, just nice year round daily driver for the next couple years that's why I ended up in this boat had everything I needed in a commuter and then some. My other toy/hobby takes up all my money...lol

You should have kept the diesel

They gave me $21k for a 2011 Golf Wagon with 200,xxxkm on it. The car had rust issues on the front fenders, needed a windshield, pano roof was starting to act up and i was just waiting for the dreaded HPFP or DPF work to be required. I believe I got out at the right time.
