After work I washed my car then drove home. With traffic it took about an hour. I ran inside to change for the gym and when I came out to the car it didn’t start.
When I turn the key all power comes on and I hear the fuel pump prime but no crank. And no click like from the starter.
It has a brand new battery.
I searched and saw something about water under the ecu. Is this common? Could it be it.

Then if you suspect water in ecu then take of the wiper arm to access the torx in the back and take off cover and see.

if car has been run it is hot so would not think water but you never know.
There are two fuses I believe under the ecu , or are they relays , .. anyhow check under there..
Could also be a bad starter or ignition switch . Can you bump start it ? or is it automatic ?

[wrench] the starter
x2.
Also, consider taking a rubber mallet and smack the starter first. Sometimes the solenoid can get stuck and the force from the impact can free it up. Although when mine did this, the starter made a whirring noise as if it was trying to spin, but not able to grab anything. If yours is making no noise, this might not be the case, but it's definitely worth a shot.

[wrench] the starter
That’s what I was thinking as well, but wouldn’t there be some type of sound from the starter?

Nope. When mine took a [poop]. There was nothing [eek]. As another [az]member suggest. Go underneath with a hammer and [wrench] bang it a few times and it mite engage and you [o_o] thats your issue [;)]

If its spinning but doesn't crank the engine, the starter motor can be good but the solenoid is bad. If there is no sound, chances are the bushings in the starter motor are worn and are causing a short. Hitting with hammer may reposition motor away from the short and the starter work.
It does need to be replaced tho.

I agree just peak under and have a look at the starter at least. If you have a voltmeter there are lots of videos online on how to trouble shoot the starter. I spent a long time and replaced a few things (CPS, Ignition switch, looking at relays etc.) trying to sort out a no crank (couldn't hear fuel pump prime and had no pressure at the rail either) but didn't lay eyes on the starter right away. When I finally looked, the little braided copper line on the starter going to the solenoid had rotted in two. Replaced the starter and it fired right up.
For me, car was running completely fine, had a hard rain over night, went out the next day and no crank (as you describe, no sound at all).

wrenching the starter out of an automatic is gonna be fun.... Remember when it comes to the bolts, one from the front and one from the back .. even better , pay somebody.
okay just to be clear we are still talking about fixing cars ...

So checked the relays and all was good.
Tried to pull the starter but doing it on my back from under a jacked up car proved to be difficult. Only option is have it towed to a shop for diagnosis.
S/N four days prior to this happening I had the valve cover gasket changed , rear timing chain cover reseal, coolant flange and the oil cooler housing replaced because of leaks.
I don’t see how it can be related but You never know.

Having the same issues - shop(dealer) is saying 50/50 relays or ignition switch.
Gonna do the relays on my own - then have them do the switch if it doesn't work. Need to verify that they checked the starter.
