Hello,
Changed the rear pads and everything went well until I tried to clear the brake fault. Did the start lining change, then end lining change in VCDS, ran a scan, cleared all DTC's but brake failure remained on dash. Codes showed lining change mode was still active. Did a search on here and saw someone else reported this in 2016, and they fixed it by starting lining change, ending lining change, then running start operations. Did that, and the parking brake cycles but still have a fault on the dash and controller 53 fails VCDS with the same lining change mode active message.
Anyone done their rear pads using VCDS version 18.9.0? Let me know what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks,
Mike

Went into the ABS module and ran the test mode there and that causes a fault to be latched. Confirmed brake replacement mode is not active and ran another Start Operations on the electric parking brake. Also, checked the connectors were connected to the rear calipers and hadn't been knocked off while I was putting everything back togehter.
Just cleared DTC's again and trying one last scan. If this doesn't work I'm going to email Ross Tech.

OK...got all the codes cleared. May not have been allowing enough time between taking an action and closing the window. Checked out a couple videos that seemed to indicate I should wait 30 seconds before closing the controller window after making a change. Did that and now scan runs without pulling and codes, but I've still got the green brake icon on the dash and BRAKE is illuminated in red. I'm stumped.
I’d hit up the boyz @ Ross-Tech.
