Hello! I am new to posting here, but have used the forums many times.

My car is a 2007 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro with 145000 miles on it. I recently had a new exhaust system in in order to pass inspection here in PA (not sure if related). The car drove seemingly fine over the next few days, although I did not drive very far. When I finally took the car on the highway, I noticed I did not have the power that it used to. After driving a little more, I noticed that anytime I would push the gas pedal more than a little bit, or if I floored it, my cars rpms would shoot up, but I would have no acceleration. I tested this at low and high speeds and the same thing happens. I can get the car up to about 80mph from a slow crawl but I have no power at all. If I am crusing at 60 on the highway and the road starts to incline I can barely hold my speed, no matter how much as I give it. After driving to Washington D.C. and back (about 250 miles round trip) I am getting the following check engine codes:

00135
00665
05634
08567
12555

It might be worth noting that the mechanic said it was hard to unbolt my exhaust from the back of the cat/turbo, and in doing so his hand slipped and he broke the top of my dipstick which he replaced. I looked up some of these codes and a few of them said it could be due to a faulty connection (maybe he knocked one off?) so i attached a few photos in case anyone here can see anything wrong.

I have spent so much money on this car fixing random things for inspection and I am trying to now do some repairs myself. Any insight into what you might think is going on would be great.

Is it a good idea to change my fuel filter to see what that does?

When you say your revs shoot up but the car doesn’t accelerate when you floor it this immediately makes me think your clutch is slipping. Is your car manual or automatic?

It is automatic. I was originally thinking of tranny slippage also, but none of the codes are related to that.

Yeah I just made a suggestion based off your description. I have no idea what your codes mean, and that probably goes for most of us on the forum. We don’t have them memorized. You’re best off providing more detail on the codes so others can chime in without having to google what they mean.

Sorry about that!

00135 : Fuel Rail/System Pressure: Too Low
00665 : Boost Pressure Regulation: Control Range Not Reached
05634 : Power Supply B+ Terminal 30: Voltage too Low
08567 : Bank 1; System Too Lean off Idle
12555 : Low Pressure Fuel regulation: Fuel Pressure Outside Specification

So I’m pretty sure the car is stuck in “limp mode” at this point. At low speeds, I could floor the pedal and he car barely moves, the rpm “shooting up” is when I’m in a higher gear and floor it and it downshifts. I am able to get up to about 65mph from a slow crawl, it just takes me a while

87089870908709187092Not exactly sure, but could it be some sort of boost issue or a torque converter problem?

The supposed surging/increase of RPM could be a problem with a torque converter not locking up or holding properly. Also, 2 codes relating to low fuel pressure. I'm not sure, but maybe an issue with a bad fuel pump as well?

Hook up to vagcom and check your transmission module for fault codes, just to be sure. Then go back to your engine module and check your measuring values for your low pressure fuel pump duty cycle and your HPFP output. You also have an underboost code which very well good be the reason for loss of power. Time to do some logs.
