Hi all.

I tried to change timing belt but due to stripped bolts could not open it. Did try to hammer in big Torx bit in the bolt, but no dice. Gave up and closed everything. On starting the car sounds as in video. Here are my findings so far.
car in question?
Audi A4 2006 B7 2.0 T FSI (BGB) FWD CVT

1. Timing is 100%. Marks align, opened valve cover to see as well nothing abnormal
2. Did CAM Chain, tensioner and cam follower a month ago
3. Changed engine oil
4. No error on VCDS. Only P310B (now fuel pressure intermittent. ) with pump duty cycle 70%. Rail pressure and everything else is normal

Since I got no replies, i think its my turn to contribute to community knowledge database.

So I opened the drive chain cover. Findings are stuck piston on the tensioner. My Hypothesis: When I rotated crank backward, the exhaust CAM drove Intake cam backward. Which shifted the force on the top side of the tensioner. This forced the piston backward and perhaps not at a very straight angle.

Question: Do you think if I wiggle the piston and try to free it, it will work. I do not want to remove the CAMS to replace it again :(. I believe the chances are 60/40 as the piston cannot be pressed beyond a specific point as when it is new it is most compressed and installing has a tiny gap before pin release.

I am skeptical about angle though and not sure if it will be a leaky tensioner.

Did you check the condition of the timing belt or have you touched it at all? Not saying it's the culprit but sometimes a loose tooth or so can cause such noise, where it is being spun around. This sounded very similar to an old Porsche I used to have due to that problem.

wow afnan I have NEVER heard of that ....

probably not many guys have so that's why no response. We tend to give no advice rather than bad advice. That is a definite first for me. I think once its out it will be fine. But you will be able to judge for yourself once you get it out.

Id love to see a pic of it.
