Hi all,

I have a set of cats (one of them is blown already), wanted to gut them both and put on the car, but there is also headers option came up.
Which headers would you suggest to go with stock gutted cats?
Does replacing headers even worth it or gutted cats will be enough already?

I know this procedure requires a lot of labor time and half of the car will be taken apart. I would appreciate if you point me at some additional things I should consider while doing this.

Thank you!

Headers replace the cats. It’s a choice, gutted cats or headers, not both.

Header options include Eurocode for $2k or Chinese knockoffs for $400.

You could also do test pipes...many different vendors out there. Could be worth the cost based on time saved in gutting OEM cats.

Couldn’t you just cut the cats out ? Alot less work and cost.

If in a state without emissions dont see why this wouldn’t be an option

You could, but I think you still have to pull the stickers out to weld all of the way around the new straight part. So IDK that it would be any less work, and test pipes aren’t that expensive. Also, having a the extra 1/4” diameter from the test pipes, right after the headers is good for performance. Finally the test pipes don’t have the weird bend the stock cats have (maybe a skilled welder could help straighten it, but you really wanna make sure you downstream flange still winds up in the right spot).
