So I was inspecting my air intake and noticed that my ECS Intake is literally falling apart. My carbon Fiber intake pipe has yellowed (no doubt from UV heat) and cracked in several parts. The ECS Plate has faded and the hood seal trim has pealed. I was wondering if anyone else has had issues with their intake and had any traction of replacements? I am 100% certain that this shouldn't have happened. I'd like to order more of their carbon fiber parts but if its just going to look like this then I don't want to waste my money... I hope its just a lemon part...

I am pretty sure many of ECS’s carbon fiber parts end up like this. [emoji853]

The yellowing is what is expected to happen over time exposed to high heat. The breaking down/cracking of the carbon fiber seems a bit extreme compared to other carbon fiber set ups I've seen though... I have the non-carbon fiber version, and it looks to be holding up great.
Also, I don't see what is wrong with the rubber hood seal piece though?

looks like he is showing the rubber seal separated from the adhesive from the intake chamber wall. maybe some "3m rubber & vinyl 80" spray adhesive if ECS cant fix?

As far as I remember, this wasn’t adhered to begin with. I think it just sits on top semi loose. At least that’s how mine is now, no problems with it ever falling off or shifting though so far.

If the outside looks like that its worth checking the inside of the inlet tube. My carbon fiber ECS tube looked fine on the outside, but the inside was flaking off. Glad I noticed before a 1" by 1" strip that was barely hanging on ended up going through my throttle body...

I'll find the pictures and post them. Solely based on this experience I'm not a fan of CF intake tubes anymore.

I just bought this intake pipe to connect to the stock air box. Now I'm starting to fear this purchase, but it looks so good in the engine bay. I'll be checking the inside every oil change now.

Ignorance is bliss I suppose. Now I'm going to start checking mine religiously. Mine's APR and has been on the car close to three years now and I don't think I've ever even a thought to check it till right now.

CF looks cool and all, but who cares when it's hidden under a hood? Easy money for ECS and others...
I have the IE intake and love it. Buy what works for you, but looks aren't everything, lol.

Said they wouldn't touch it because I got it from a distributor Eurocharged Canada...

Typically warranty claims have to go via the original purchases, in this case, the disturber. But please shoot me a PM with any order info you have, I might be able to help out.

Well, hope you guys are able to assist them out. I hate it when a manufacturer of said product says you have to be the original purchaser. Because either way if he purchase directly from you or from second hand market he still purchased your product and as a manufacturer you should at least stand behind it.
