Is it possible to program a key fob to a 13 S4 if the part numbers are different? I bought the key fob from this website and they say it is compatible with 2009-16 S4's. When I received the key fob it looks the same except there is no S4 logo on the back of it and as stated the part numbers are different.

No locksmith can program the key fob so when asking the dealer they said it would be $152 to program it whether it works or not.
So I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge about whether the key fob would be able to be programmed or not with a differing part number? Sometimes part numbers are interchangeable so I figured I'd ask. Honestly I don't want to waste $152 to find out if it works or not so I was hoping maybe somebody here would have some knowledge on the subject. If it's not worth the hassle, I can always send the key fob back for a full refund.
My key fob part number is on the left, one to be programmed is on the right

Yes, I can return the fob I bought for a full refund. I'd have to call the dealership to see what they would charge for a new fob and to see if the programming of that fob would be included. I'm willing to bet that they won't be throwing in the programming for free.

Dealer key fob would include metal key that fits into fob.

The key fob that I bought also came with an uncut key, I just had it removed so everyone could see the part numbers in the pic.
When I called the dealer today, you can order just the fob or they key separately. They also confirmed that the key fob has to be ordered based off your VIN number. The key fob costs $240 and programming is not included, so add another $152.
So after all this I am not going to chance having the key fob I purchased programmed. Based on having to order a key fob by VIN number, I feel like I'm going to be wasting $152 just to see if programming works or not. So needless to say I am just going to return the fob for a full refund.
Most private shops don't program keys because they need to have the programming software that connects back to audi to program the key based on VIN. I was quotes around $400 from one dealer $600 from another and eventually paid a local shop that purchased the software needed $120 to reprogram a used key purchased from ebay for $40.
Keys can only be programmed by the dealer. Also, you have to have all keys present when they do it because they basically erase them from the car’s system and then reprogram everything.
So, like the dealer told you, no, you can’t reprogram another key. I’d return it and just go to the dealer.

Have you had any issue with chain rattle with 2016?
Have you had any issue with chain rattle with 2016?
No, but my car only has 14k miles on it. And if there was a rattle, I wouldn’t be able to hear it over the clutch chatter. Plus, I believe they fixed the issue with the 2016s.

I had a key programed for my A6 and the lock smith did use a laptop that needed to be connected back to Audi using an application from his laptop. It was SIGNIFICANTLY less than the dealer. If memory serves it was $225 all in. Key and programming. This was in 2012 so obviously a lot could have changed since then. Not sure the dealership is your only option.
