I am trying to locate suspension parts for my 99 1.8t quattro a4 and what i looked up either has no reviews or ecs tuning reviews where seperate reviews said 10,000 miles it fell apart. I am just looking for a complete front and back suspension from the top down, price doesnt matter as long as they are tried and true im kinda sketched out if ecs tunings falls apart at 10k miles. I have parts from them already on the car, can someone help? On the suspension im quite lost due to not wanting to buy a ebay set they will fall apart at 100 miles, lol, anyone have a good set that works over 10,000 miles i would appreciate a link or something.

Thanks,
Wooshy

So, the fronts you really need to get a whole kit since the ball joints are not replaceable on the arms, even though the bushings are. I've tried a few different kits, but next time I will get all Moog stuff from Rock Auto for around $400. I believe these to be rebranded Lemforders, which are OE. I'm not going to type out all the part numbers from them, you can look. I priced it out once though and they were around $400. Get the CK series when available . You can see in this photo it has "LMO" stamped on it on goes for $54. OEM from Genuine Audi Parts is $100, while Lemforder from FCP is $72.

The rears are different. You do not purchase whole units beside the tie rods. Again, get these in Moog from Rock Auto at $23/piece. The rest of the bushings will need to be separately ordered and pressed in by you. Here is my exact order from FCP for the whole Quattro rear, obviously with a couple of things you wouldn't need.

I was looking at moog, But the rep I talked to told me there are some pieces they do not have for the suspension, Something about a lower control arm piece, The rep was helpful otherwise, Moog looks like the best brand but I would go through them specifically instead of a vendor, usually offer a warranty vs the others

good suggestion though and thanks! i appreciate the help @redline380

That is incorrect. You see, parts reps are pretty good at all parts, but enthusiasts are excellent are parts just for their cars. Below is the correct Rock Auto order for the entire front end. Note that CK90494 is ordered twice since it is the same for both sides.

Moog is an all around good brand for all makes and models. With that being said, I pieced together an entire Lemforder kit for around $600 said and done. Picked up parts from FCP Euro, Rock Auto, and ebay (only the two lower arms the struts sits on). They had sales on the CAs and I took advantage of it. Cost less than a pieced together kit when I pieced it together myself. Installed them roughly 2-3 months ago.

Less than 100 miles. Car is sitting waiting for turbo replacement to come in the mail. Basically did a refresh of the car, and almost done. But I expect these to last at least 100k.

You have other options, like taking advantage of the FCP lifetime warranty. Since you can wrench, the FCP kit may suit you just fine. Just don't expect them to last 100k. I would guestimate 50k a good lifespan for those.

Just to add to Redline's response earlier, if you look at the RockAuto image of the Moog arm and compare to an image of a Genuine Audi arm, you can see where the Audi logo was ground off... so you can be sure that they are identical to Genuine Audi parts, just repackaged for Moog and made by Lemforder.

all the better reason i felt i should ask before ordering anything.

so moog is just a modified audi arm, Thats cool to know, atleast the holes match up, i have worked on stuff similar where it was no where close to the original

Moog is never a "bad" brand. But they do have some better stuff than others.

There's no guarantee this is Lemforder but it sure looks like it.

Also no guarantee you will receive in the mail what is pictured. I ran 034MS arms prior with 034MS strut mounts. Was told by my mechanic one or more of my arms was bad years back but rode with it anyways. But the passenger side strut mount totally fell apart (real reason I wanted to do a complete overhaul). I think I replaced those with Meyle when I did the CAs.

Rock Auto is my go to place. Their company policies are very nice too. For example, with returning items it is hassle free. Just look up your invoice, answer a few questions online, and they even let you purchase discounted shipping labels. Like...75% shipping discounted vs you shipping yourself.

Fcpeuro and dont look backFor many things, yes. Such as the rear bushings as I've shown. For the front, no. I frequent fcp and rock auto, each is great in their own regard.

I'm a big fan of rockauto too. I just rather spend a little more for a wearable part like that so I can have that lifetime warranty lol

FCP used to cater to non-German vehicles. I guess they learned the market for it and made the move to cater to just Euro vehicles. I used to order from them prior to being FCP "Euro". They had an ebay store I used to order from. Very smart business move on their end, and they treat their customers very well.

Other companies don't have half the ethics these guys have. They would rather keep their customers happy than not, while other's just see the profit potential. FCP earned their reputation, and is why so many recommend them. For example with the Lemforder parts ordered from FCP, those also carry a lifetime warranty. Not just FCP rebranded items.

These came from CA and NC in The us, the production numbers are on them, no warranty the paperwork is just the specs sheet for where they go on the car, which is nice to have included, came with bushings bolts and nuts needed to replace the old ones which is awesome, the bushings look to be OE from audi

will post more pictures when I go to install everything because Opening the boxes is the best part as we all know, its like christmas in September, had to work later than I expected but still had time to get a plan together on how i am going to tackle them, I am also needing to get new shocks and springs, Any good suggestions, I am doing a full revival of my car from the ground up, I already started making some parts to add my own touch to dressing the car up some, I do however need to see if I can locate a set of seats, my drivers is missing a bottom, and I have sport seats but i doubt they are fun to drive 400+ miles a day "There and back.." sitting in them I am wanting to try to do some nice upgrades which is why i went moog right off for my suspension lol

Got everything installed, had a issue with some missing bolts, some parts came with the correct bolts others did not, a week later got all the bolts put them together, So far so good, after running the car a month ide say the moog parts are very good, I have some more parts on their way, but the whole front suspension with exception of shocks and springs is new, the pinch bolts were loose, which tells me the whole front was about to come undone and i was gonna be SOL lol but now i am trying to get the rear suspension, so far i have put in a grand total of $400 and I feel like it was a steal since Advance Auto and Autozone quoted me 1600-2000 USD which is crazy! Thanks again guys!, I have a few new parts on their way, new interior since the seats are pretty well seen their end in my car, New carpet "Old carpet has seen better days and is brown and stained black I went to a junk yard and got a steal with a new center console for less than $20 for a 2003 console that was in great shape, same design fit perfectly just needed to pull the old radio out and wire in the new radio and thermostat "Came with the console for $20 lol, I enjoyed my day pulling it out aswell, also pulled the steering wheel and got some other parts. I need to get back to the junk yard and pull more because I hit a gold mine where I went, They had 40+ 98-2003 a4's that were not in too bad of shape most were rear ended, the original console just vaporized when any pressure was placed on it, Felt like pringles breaking between my fingers. I have to find the rear suspension parts that are moog to finish out the bottom of the car, The tires are loose and have play so thats pretty well done too, I have a decent plan for this car, I have even made some parts with carbon fiber that will be going in to dress it up some inside :) pretty good if I say so myself!
