So having prop shaft issues in my 98 audi a4 5spd manual. Bought a new rear cv joint for the prop shaft and the spline count is wrong. Could Ecs tuning send me the wrong part? Cant find anything that says they made different spline cv joints, it looks to be the same size just incorrect splines . Any help would be appreciated. Part number from Ecs cross references with every other website I can find.

By "prop shaft" do you mean the drive shaft down the center of the car? Or the driveshaft connecting across to the rear wheel?

Prop shaft i mean what in every other vehicle is known as a drive shaft not the axle coming from the diff. The rear cv on the shaft is shot to hell. The replacement i got didnt fit. My drive shaft had less splines than what the replacement had.

It looks like there are two possible drive shafts for each transmission type. 2 for the manual transmission. 2 for the auto transmission. The actual CV joint part number is not shown. You might try calling the dealer tomorrow to find the part number

Dang thats going to be interesting to try and figure. The shaft is supposedly and unservicable unit and they only sell they as a whole shaft. Evey where shows it as the same joint and same part number. Ive never seen any other P/N than this one GKN Drivetech W0133-1613054
