Has anyone experienced small paint bubbles before? The the paint has been well maintained, but just recently noticed small bubbles around the driver side handle. The are no visible holes in the bubble and no damage around the area.

Looks like the door has been repainted. I see sand scratches on the top of the door handle and poor prep work on the door panel below the handle.

Agreed. Thats not a factory orange peel finish. I would guess poor paint job. Either the color coats were not completely dry before the 2nd stage was applied or there was some contamination trapped below the clearcoat. You'll probably need to redo that panel properly.

Interesting... I don't know of any accidents on the car or any body work that was done. These bubbles appeared within the last 2 weeks and I have owned the car for over a year.

brand new cars can get damaged on dealer lots or in transit. i know for a fact dealers send them down the street to body shops, (I worked as a salesman at a place that did this and did not like the practice) and do not tell the buyers their new car has been touched up.

Get access to a paint meter or try a magnet and see if you can detect any filler on the panel. Could have been a minor scratch or scuff tat someone wanted to cover.

Who owned it before you?

this is 110% repainted lol. No question there.

so if you owned the car for a year and it magically appeared there in the last 2 weeks, then it was to be some sort of contaminant, tar, tree sap, road asphalt etc. Paint don't bubble like this, never seen that in 10 yr of career.

But either way, you should simply get that door repaint. Amazing how you never realised it before, it look so obvious from this one single picture.
