I suspect that my bank 2 catalytic converter is bad due to a p0430 code and a rattling sound from the cat area of the exhaust on my B8 S4 with DSG. I understand that the removal of the cats can be rather difficult and expensive if brought to a shop. I’m a Cummins Certified Diesel Mechanic by trade and feel that I am up to the task of removing and replacing them with test pipes:) I understand that there isn’t much gain (hp/tq wise) to be had by doing a test pipe setup, but since I run a stage 2 setup if I were to replace the cats with new replacements it would be bound to happen again in the future so I am eliminating that possibility! Can anyone provide some insight of how I can free up some space to make the removal easier? I’ve heard that lowering the trans can help significantly... if so, I’d like to know which bolts need to be loosened in order to do so. I’d like to avoid removing the subframe as I want to avoid having to have the car re-aligned. If I have to, I’ll take a reciprocating saw and just cut the old cats out... but there again, if I don’t have to, I don’t want to lol this topic seems rather vague across the Audizine community so I’d just like some guidance on the easiest possible way to get this done! Thank you in advance for your help! When I perform this I will post a DIY for everyone to see what works, and what doesn’t!
