First time changing pads ever in my life. When I removed pad that was glued in, do I need to apply some sort of glue when I reinstall? I’ve got the pads in but it doesn’t seem right because it is loose. The other side snaps/clamps in and i was expecting the opposite pad to do the same. Is this normal? Thanks.

No glue needed, when you put the spring clip back in it’ll take up the slack.

Thanks man. I noticed though even with the clip it does wiggle a bit still. But guess it’s normal. Thanks again.

The OEM pads have a 3M double-sided tape on them. I suspect most aftermarket pads don't have that on them.

Maybe your wiggle and mine are different.
Hopefully you did one side at a time, when you were completed with the first side did the wiggle match the one that hadn’t been done yet?

I used the CRC red disc brake quiet to hold the non piston side pad as the original pads were "glued" in. Im on my 5th set of pads , but mine goes to the track. I have also at times had to adjust the pistion side pads prongs to allow them to fit snug.
What pads did you install?

I did the same thing. CRC on the pads to help keep them in place and have never had any noise or shifting. Also lubed all the pins. There was a great thread on this and basically outlined these steps

I just did the front brakes and rotors on my car and notice the first time i hit the brake pedal I hear a click. Any thoughts? I also have some noise when braking and I put CRC on the pads thinking they would help but it was no go. Running hawk HPS pads.

I put Hawk HPS pads on a few months and I also had a click the first time I stepped on the brake after the car had been sitting for a bit. Not sure what it is, but it's gone away recently.

Just made a quick video Just seems weird that the OEMs were glued in but these akeebonos don’t.

The outer front pad needs to be glued to the caliper, just like the factory ones are, to prevent pad rattle noises.

what glue should be used?

the CRC acts as a glue. You put it on and let it set a bit then put the pad in. That is all I did and I have no clicks, squeal or rattles.

You guys don't put the CRC on the inner pad? Hmmm..

I think I did both pads. Thin coat.
I swapped my pads twice and never had to use adhesive on outer pads. Apply thin layer of lube just like any other brake job.
