WindFireAuto 'Forever' Puddle Lights

I've had WindFireAuto.com's color film based puddle lights for about 4 years now and love them. Well made and durable, although the logo films fade out over time. They came out with their "Forever Lens" (https://www.windfireauto.com/product/te001-a/) with etched-glass instead of film. Finally got around to getting some, which arrived yesterday. Looking forward to not having to replace the logo films periodically.

I put the etched one in the front doors, and the film ones (with new inserts) in the rear. I like the color better, but nice to not have to replace them. We'll see how they hold up over time.

Here's some pictures of the film version vs. cheap eBay versions. Both work, but the cheap ones are a bit flimsy. One of the cheap ones died before a year.

Looks good. I have the original with the color but they are faded out and lol I never got around to replacing them so I have a a burned out image.

So the new ones are suppose to last and never need to change them? How much were they? Think it’s worth it? Or just get the film replacement

How do you replace the film do you have to remove the hiding from the door?

Also I guess it gives you an option for plugs is your link the correct plug adapter we need? And, does the Audi symbol automatically come with it? I don’t see the option to choose the lens design.

My driver’s side film faded/melted as well. Recently received my lifetime “free replacement” films from Wind Fire.. haven’t gotten around to replacing yet.

They are laser-etched glass according to the website, so won't fade out. They were $30, and I like the idea of not having to replace the films. To replace the films, remove the projector and pull it out by the little tab and swap in the new one.

The link is for our version. Not sure which Audis fit the other model. I'm guessing they had difficulty with logo owners, so they are cagey about it on the website. It does come with the Audi logo by default.



I wonder if the uber-expensive Audi official color ones fade out or not. Anyone have those?

I’m too lazy to go take it out of the door bc my connection is short it was a pain in the ass to try and connect it because the wire must be caught in something in the door I had no slack to easily swap it. But if I know this is the one I would buy these and move my fronts to back and like you did. I have a 2016 A7 same connection?
