I ordered a JL audio 8w3v3 to install in the Oem box with poly fill I will report back if it made a difference I am over the no bass on a 5k stereo upgrade. If this is a failure I will add a amp and 2. 10s just won’t be hidden and obviously a lot more money. I paid $190 for a new sub is that sound like a decent deal ?

I agree I did that on my s7 before I even tinted it but I am trying to keep my interest in this car and it’s hard to not just cut my losses now and sell it I figured if I had a nice stereo it would hold me over I’m skeptical about adding the sub only you might be right yoshi123

I just realized what a small world this is, you bought those 21 on offer up, I was thinking about buying them as spares before you swooped them up lol!

Yes sir if I sell car I will put my stocks back on and sell 21s. There is a set on here in Tahoe for $600 as well. If I can sell my Adv1 wheels soon I would buy another set for this car.

Just do the amp at the same time. Trust us on this. BTW, you anti-punctuation or something?

You will need another amp because a lot of the problem is the BOSE way of doing things. And as others have mentioned you really should have just added an amp and a separate sub in its own box.

Let us know how it works out. Just remember these things take some time to 'break in' as I came to find out. My sub sounded ok at installation then about 1000 miles in it just woke the F up! I now have to go back there and turn down my amp to get things civil inside cause now it is too bass heavy.

Good luck!

I was really just giving you shit about lack of punctuation. I couldn't care less.
If b&o, I think just a sub is ok since the amp can handle it. Other b&o guys can chime in though.

I start rambling and punctuation goes out the window lol. Quattro someone did a write up on the JL 8 inch sub in a b&o system but it was a RS7 that’s why I asked if it was a good idea. We will see on Saturday lol.

Ok that explains a whole lot.

If you have B&O as already has been mentioned all you need to do is switch out the sub and you will be OK from what other lucky bastards (I digress) have mentioned.

I have a 2014 S6 with the B&O. The stock system doesn't have "real" power for a true sub capability. I added a J&L Audio 500 watt mono-block, and a sealed 12" w7 in the trunk. UNREAL. Crisp, clear, imaging is amazing, and you feel this bad boy down to ~25hz. Lower octave covered now - Check.

I did my 2018 A6 Comp with Audio Control AMP/LOC and JL 10" mounted in deck. https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/813708-C7-Subwoofer-Proof-of-Concept

The bass is much better and I got to keep my trunk. That said, I intend to do the front doors/dash, and accompanying DSP/AMP(s) as well...

I put my 10" image dynamics sub hanging from my deck lid in my A6. I will post a picture when I find a new place to host it.

What ohm should I buy to replace my B&O subwoofer?

Ohms don’t matter as long as your amp can support it. I was using dual coil 4ohms 10 inch sub with stock amp in my s4.

I m about to install the same sub in my S6, I’m also thing about cutting a hole in my read deck on the other side and install second sub. Will see if I need a new amp most likely yes.

What was the outcome of the sub upgrade?
