View Full Version : 12.85 @ 100mph? Low trap?

So I took the car out for the first time on Friday. Unfortunately I only got a single run in before we got rained out. I was happy with the 1320 for a first ever pass with the car, at altitude. The MPH seems way low to me.

The vehicle is stock other than stage 1 (5:1 setting) Chipwerkre and RS intake.

Track - Medicine Hat, Canada ~2,300 ft.
1.925 - 60'
5.36 - 330'
8.24 - 660' @ 86.0 MPH
10.65 - 990'
12.85 - 1320' @ 100.2 MPH

Obviously it would have been nice to get a second proofing pass in on the opposite lane. I feel the car may have even been a touch faster (from previous experience your first pass is typically not the fastest of the evening).

I'm hoping the MPH was maybe an error on the track sensors.

45,000km's on the car.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the benchmark. You are picking up 19MPH on the back end whereas I only saw 14MPH. From the 1/4 mile database on here 18-20MPH looks to be the norm for a stock or mild tune car. Possibly it was to do with the DA.

DA most likely , there’s a lot of variables heat soaked , air in system , crosswinds etc . Every car is different . For instance I’m stage2+DP right now and only trapping 114 but when others are in the 118-119 with the same set up . [emoji1360]

Your 60’ time seems quite high. I regularly get in the 1.6s but have a high rev setting for my launch control.

Yeah - could be from heat, not enough octane or elevation/DA. Also, your 60 foot sucked - so it's not a great indicator on the rest of the run.

If you ARE going to see knock with a piggyback it'll be most likely in the higher gears, at least partially explaining the time versus the trap speed. FWIW I was trapping 109-110 in the 12.8X.
