I screwed up big time yesterday. I used DOT 5 for my brake bleed☹️ I don’t know where to even begin on how to solve flush my brakes. Is that even what I should do or should I just replace everything? I used 2 bottles of dot 4 after that to try to push everything else out and then I used another to bleed again. My brakes feel like shit. What a freaking mess!

if you flushed it out with dot 4 you should be fine. if the brakes feel like shit that means that you didnt bleed them properly and have air in the system.

A pressure brake bleeder from ecs. What I read is that since the DOT 5 is silicone based and not glycol based it does not come out of the system no matter how much you flush but I will try bleeding again

The DOT rating is specific to the boiling and hydroscopic nature of brake fluid and should have no bearing on your brake feel. I'm going to guess that you have air in your lines. You may be able to rent a power bleeder and get better results that way.

So do you think I flushed the system enough and should just try to get the air out?

I know when I changed my calipers I needed to bleed mine two maybe even three times before I found them satisfactory. It wasn't until I bought my power bleeder that I actually got a sufficient amount of air out of the system.

Power bleeder is the way to go.
