NO! Its not 4x4....its AWD...lol...damnit people...springs are great just get a good quality spring (H&R,Neuspeed, Intrax) and I have heard from a few ziners that even Tein makes an OK spring for the A4's....and wellcome to the forum.

ok running 17s...... What size tires?

25 mm = ~1 inch.

the H&R race I have drops the front by 2.0" and the rear by 1.25"

I'm running 225/40/18 in the winter and 205/55/16.

I would not want to lower it past that.

Welcome to AZ.

Well unfortuantely with the non-sport suspension your stock struts won't handle the springs you're looking for. You can get springs if you want but I guarantee you'll be getting new struts very soon. So, that being the case you're better off saving up for coilovers. Now if you have the sport suspension (I'm assuming by your 4x4 description you don't though) then you'd be okay running springs with a reasonable drop.

BTW, Tein only makes products for FWD B5s :(.

Welcome to the forums. Good luck with your car!

You could do springs & shocks as well.

Your 96 does not come with a sport suspension. Neither did my 97. Here in canada MM is preferred too.

Hmmm, and i'm also interested, i'm pretty sure the 96 only came with stock 16" five spoke... I also have a 96

hey guys, he said he has 17" wheels from a TT

and to be repetitive, you'll need springs + shocks/struts or your existing ones will be blown before you know it. i'd search the classifieds and try and find a set with <10k miles if you're trying to save money...

otherwise, look to spend $700
