Trouble getting front plate on

Hey everyone,
Dealer installed this on the front grill to run a front plate which in NJ I have too. I have the predrilled plate with 4 holes about 2 inches from the corners but none of them line up. Should I drill new holes in plate or am I missing a bracket or something for this piece...car was optioned with a front filler plate originally

The plate holder should line up with license plate without having to drill holes in either. Simple solution is to go to the dealer with the plate in hand and ask them to demonstrate how the plate is affixed to the holder. They put plates on at the dealer all the time and should be able to resolve your issue, especially since you purchased the car from them.

Mine just has drilled holes.

I just bought a '14 that did not have the bracket on it for the front plate when I looked at it, so the dealer ordered one and installed it for me. The holes in it do not line up with the plate (and are way too big for screws anyway). I just marked and drilled two holes and used stainless steel pan head screws to attach the plate. That has to be how it is intended.
