It's reportedly going to be available in the U.S but it will be sold as an Infiniti....Also for anyone who cares to know, our market Infiniti G35 is a Skyline in Japan....350GT....
The R34 GTR Skyline is not made anymore, hence why it's at a premium now.....

I think that it'll be sold at about the same time they release the next generation Supra thats supposed to be rebadged as a Lexus.
I've read that the price on that car is supposed to be at least 100k!

That front end is hideous! I really like the back and the side shot though. Whatever happens with this, the R34 GTR will always be king!

Wonder how much they're going to try to get for them though?
I bet it'll be so overpriced that the average person wont be able to afford it....

Well looks like they managed to do the same thing as BMW. That thing is just not a skyline GTR, I mean take off the badges and mask over the rear lights and no one would have a clue what it is.
It's just vulgar and awful really.

The original looked like an understated freight train, a bouncer at a fancy club dressed in a suit. It was presentable and polished but it could still kick you ass hard. A car that if it drove by on the street a car guy would drool but any other person would just think it's a stylish looking car.

The new one is just trying way to hard, it's trying to look as fast as it is, and while that works for a Lambo it just doesn't for a GTR. Big failure as far as design goes in my opinion.

I would like to know what the specs are on it.

What a hot car. At first I didn't like it. For some, now I love the look of it, it grew on me.

I'm digging most of it except for some reason i don't like the lines on the front end. I bet it will cost a pretty penny.

I'll never own a Nissan or Infiniti product though. My buddies two year court battle with Infiniti over his first year G35 coupe killed any desire to let that company profit off me.

Long story short.... he went through 3 of the manual transmissions in the first year with a total of 53 days in the shop. Infiniti had a pretty common issue from what i read on various forums with the output driveshaft bearing, causing it to rattle. Since the dealers at the time didn't actually do internal tranny work, they would swap the whole transmission out on all three occasions it went bad. Last i heard they still havent had any recalls or service bullitins on the design flaw, but supposedly they did a very slight change in the tollerences of the output driveshaft and has resolved the problem discretely.

... i feel bad for anyone who has the bearing go out after their warranty expires, not knowing of the issue. My friend had a 2 year legal battle over the car being a lemon and finally won just a couple months ago. During the whole ordeal, he had to buy a $2k beater car to drive because any accident, damage, etc to the G35 during the suit would have thrown it out the window, along with his many accumulated hours with his attorney.

I told him to buy an Audi when he got the G... he never listened. Too obcessed with the extra horsepower, sporty styling, etc. He's currently in the market for a new A6.... heh. Finally saw the light. :)

I always knew that basically G35s=Skylines. Does this hold true on the performance side of things? Or is a base model skyline equal to our G35, with the GTR (performance version) only available in Japan?

Its going to have the infinity symbol in the front cause who could justify buying an 80k nissan, but in the back all it will say is SKYLILNE.

Thats going to be so pimp when it comes here.

who could justify spending 80k on that junk when you could buy a Z06 which outperform it in virtually every category

Because not everyone wants a Corvette. They are way more common than a GT-R. Besides, if you are an enthusiast, and have the means to afford one, then go for it. To each their own, man. Oh wait, perhaps you were being sarcastic? Either way... It's a beautiful machine IMO.
