Looking at a low mileage RS7, but the carfax(attached) is giving me doubts. Do brake pads need to be replaced every 5000-7000 miles? And so many tire replacements makes me think the car was tracked or something wrong with alignment. Curious how long the brakes/tires last for normal daily driving?

I think they had rotor warping issues. That carfax doesn't scare me. Have an Audi service person pull the full history.

My first thought after seeing that carfax is track car or otherwise been driven hard. Since it's a 2014, the original warranty is almost expired if not already. Unless it's a CPO or a smoking deal, I would look for another vehicle just for peace of mind. 3rd party extended warranties will also be more expensive if the original warranty is expired.

I'd be hard to find a babied RS7 IMO, but that one looks like it had a much harder life than normal. I'd also look for another, especially if not a bargain. At least it looks like it just had one owner up to Dec 2017, but I'd look deeper at the maintenance and owner history. I'm not a used-car guy, especially a high-performance one, so don't pay too much attention to my recommendation. Ha ha. Good luck.

Or the roads were horrible where the car was located, @ 25k wheels were repaired, @ 13k, 18k, & 20k one tire was replaced most likely a knot/puncture in the sidewall of the tire.

Looks like it was ridden hard and put away wet every time it left the stable. I would skip it

The tire replacement is pretty excessive, especially with all 4 at a time- on those occasions I would agree that it was likely tracked. Same with rotors being replaced that quickly. I know dealerships push hard to have brake pads and rotors replaced at the same time, so it may be that the owner was talked into replacing rotors more frequently than necessary. As long as everything checks out Inwouldnt be too worried, but I’d have the engine checked very thoroughly

The streets of SF are horrific so that could easily explain the tire replacement pattern for sure. Can't say too much about whether car was tracked or not but most people I know that track their cars don't get their tires from the dealer. Usually indy shop.

My biggest fear, and from experience bring screwed by them, is the dealership that supposedly maintained this said car. Royal Motors is a sham and they've worked on two of my old Audi A4s claiming to have done work I paid them to do. Oil filters were never replaced and tires never rotated. Corner cutting at their very best. Avoid this place at all cost.

Spend a little more time and find a better example. It's out there.

If its on 21" wheels, they don't hold up well because they are not forged. I know 3 people that have had multiple wheels replaced from pot holes. Also often the tires get ruined as well since the side wall on the 21" size is so short. In all honesty I looks like it is taken care of at the Audi dealership?

The rotors? People often report the stock not lasting to 20,000 miles. I was lucky in that mine were recently replace on mine before I purchased but they are an expensive and frequent maintenance item on the RS7 unfortunately. Not a lot of aftermarket options offered either. If the car appears to be taken care of, no rock chips, scratches, paint not spidered all up, no door dings, interior smells good and has zero damage, that car fax wouldn't scare me off. Often you can just sort of sit in a used car, and tell if its had the shit kicked out of it hhahah!

Please don't make your purchase solely on a carfax report. I flew out of state to buy an S7 and the carfax had zero body/paint work. After I looked over the car I noticed overspray. Hopped on the plane and came home. This time around I hired an inspector and he sent me 300 pictures and we reviewed ever detail together on the phone. I purchased the car.

Honestly, that tire replacement history looks like it was driven on NJ roads, haha. The previous owner probably had tire and wheel warranty and was fairly clueless with cars, so they paid for an alignment every time.

Thank everyone for your opinion. I haven't seen it in person yet. Hopefully this week. It has a no haggle price of $72.5k. It is a fairly well optioned car and is a dynamic edition. It does have tinted tails/side markers and shaved badges which leads me to believe that there were probably other mods/tunes that were removed prior to sale. Still had 8 months of factory warranty left.

If I call any local dealer and give them the vin, will they provide the service records for free and let me know if the car is TD1?

I just bought a CPO S7 that per the car fax had tires replaced numerous times over the course of 2 years and only 7K miles which made me very worried for some of the same reasons you read here. I had the dealer pull all of the service records (it was bought from the same dealer that serviced the car) and it turns out that the previous owner had a winter and summer setup so each time the had the tires swapped out car fax picked it up as “tires replaced”. When I looked deeper into the timing of car fax the “tire replacements” were all in November (to winter setup) and April (to summer setup). Long story short see if you can get the actual service records, car fax only tells you so much.
