So recently my 2.8 a6 avant has been having brake issues. Girlfriend drove the car, and told me something was up with the brakes and it pulled really hard when she braked. Upon inspection, i thought the front single piston calipers had siezed. Very hard to turn them, so that was my first thought. Replaced both front calipers with different stock calipers. After bleeding brakes they *siezed* up as well. When driving it feels like the e brake is pulled and any acceleration then letting off the gas will slow it down rapidly and can almost come to a stop without pressing the brakes. My next thought was master brake cylinder was/is going bad. Replaced that last night, bled the brakes, same thing happens. Now the weird thing is the brakes will stick, and sometimes they won’t. When i first start the car all is well, and then it’s just a matter of time before they stick/sieze. Have the brake lines to replace next as another thought.. anyone have any insight into what might be causing this?!?

*cliff notes* front brakes calipers stick. Replaced calipers and master brake cylinder. No help, still stick. Will sporadically drive normal, other times feels like e brake is pulled. Need opinions on what else to try/replace!

Do you have any abs faults? I've heard of bad ABS modules causing symptoms similar to yours.

Will look into it, thanks! Should have my abs unit from my s4 still and will swap if I can find it.

im not totally sure but that may require some reprogramming via vcds
