Help. Just changed my rear pads looks like the sensors are not reusable. Wire is showing on the sensor. Also I only saw a sensor and the driver side rear nothing on the passenger side. 2014 s6. Please confirm

Yep sensors are only on the driver side front and rear. I replaced mine at pad and rotor change, then left them out of the pads, tied off since I check pad thickness when I change my wheels over.

When you replace the sensor does the brake light turn off or do I need to use vag com to clear the light?

Replacing the sensor was the only way I got the light to turn off. I can't recall if I tested the "no sensor plugged in" scenario to see if that would trigger the fault light but I think it does.

sensors are not needed unless you dont pay attention to your brakes. Just cut them back and tie them off.

The sensor is a simple loop of wire. The wire wears away when there is less than 3mm of pad remaining. Sensors are found on the inner pads of the left side calipers. If you use ACC, the rear brakes slow the car and you may have more wear on the rear pads. Here's a shot of my rear inner pad sensor at 27000 miles. The worn brake pad light was not on yet.
