View Full Version : Vag Com frustrations

So, I used the two vag com lists floating around here tonight to make all the tweaks to my 2013 A6 prestige, and couldn't get a few things to work.

1- I can't roll my windows down with my remote. They can roll up, but they won't roll down.

2- I can't get my DRL's to stay on while my turn signal is on. It still does the wink feature even though I have it coded correctly.

3- I can't get the auto-parking break to engage when I put the car into park. I still have to use the button.

Anyone have any suggestions?

once you do the settings for the window, you have to turn it on in the mmi display. as far as the drl's just did mine 2 days ago and worked fine. not sure about the parking brake.

Do not be frustrated. Remember, that some features on your features need to be enabled in the MMI. When you have done the coding correctly go into your MMI and under your CAR menu you should find a new feature to enable the use of the roll down feature for your key. The other 2 issues sound like a coding issues so try this link : http://www.audienthusiasts.com/ ,and I hope that this help you. One other thing you may want to try is to see if anyone close to you has a OBD11 app/Dongle because the coding you are talking about is available via the "APPS". Good Luck.

Where in the mmi? I turned it on, and cannot find it anywhere. Also, I don't think my MMI has been updated since 2013.

Now, having said that, I didn't "reset" my MMI. Do I need to do that? If so... how exactly do I do that? haha

I asked that too, and there were several others who were also unable to successfully enable it. Audi disabled it at a level VCDS cannot overcome. My car had a supplemental flyer from Audi about it being disabled.

Ok, KwikStix, go into the "CAR" menu in MMI and you should see where menu has updated after the coding change. Once in the "CAR" menu you can enable that function in the MMI and then you opening/close the windows and even your sunroof as well. Please, look at the link I sent you as it has been a BIG help for me. I think it will be a big help to you. I was able to code my wife's car with this feature which is a 2013 A6 Quattro. Finally, if you are still having issues then reach out to your local Audi club. One of the members may have a tool, OBDeleven, that I use, which offers even more "Pre"configured "apps" or codings that you will not see on say ,VCDS as it is more like a factory scan tool. Let, me qualify that last statement. I am not saying that OBDeleven is a better tool that VCDS or vice versa. Each tool has it advantages and disadvantages based on your level automotive/scan tool knowledge. Again, I think you are on the right track by asking for help here at "Audizine" but also use your local sources as well that can help in real time with the issues you are running into. Again, Good luck and happy coding!!!

...go into the "CAR" menu in MMI ...

I think the settings are a level deeper in the menu. It was under whatever controls the key options (trunk locking, etc.). I cant remember the name.

If I recall correctly, in addition to the coding for the wink feature, the amber corner lights also had to be disabled via vagcom for this to work for some dumb reason. I did get it to work on mine (also a '13 A6).

good luck.

I did go to the link you sent and it is definitely clearer to understand, but the problem is that I don't see any option under "car" that has changed allowing me to enable the windows to be controlled by the remote. I'll take some pictures later and post them.

And I run our local vw/audi group lol. No one locally has the OBDeleven tool unfortunately.

I disabled them as well, and it still isn't working. I'm going to tinker with it some more this evening.

I never got that one to work on mine either. Hopefully you figure it out for us ;)

OK i figured out the remote windows issue. I just reset everything and did the coding again and found the menu addition [emoji106]

Now I'm still working on getting the led wink to stop, and keep my fogs on (led headlights) to stay on with my brights. I've followed all instructions and can't get it to work. Here are some pictures of my settings... Anyone see anything wrong?

I would take Bit 2 in your first shot and disable it. Then reset MMI and then try that feature. As for the other feature you want , I am not certain that those parameters can be changed and they work based on the American spec switch and the logic that Audi used in your A6. In the second and last photos, I see the FOG lights options are there but they are greyed out. So it my not be an option but keep trying different combos. If this does not work you maybe able to make changes via the secret menus.
