I think they put that turbo on the TT225 to give it that extra kick! Not sure though.

The K04-15 was never installed on anything stock. Even the A4 180hp sport in europe came with the K03. The 225TT comes stock with a different K04.

The K04-15 is just a turbo in the Borg Warner line which has the same housings as the K03 found on the A4/Passat.

Why would Garrett know what cars Borg Warner supplied with a K04-15?

the k04 on the TT is larger and moves more air than the k04-15 we use as a replacement for the stock k03. a stock turbo (k04-20) TT is capable of 300whp with the proper setup. APR claims 257hp/264lb-ft from a chip alone. the K04-20 is the same turbo as the K04-22 or -23.

the RS4 K04s have more in common with the TT's K04-20 than the K04-15 we use. that's why we are limited to roughly 240hp and a pair of RSK04s can do more than twice that.

K04 turbos have been used in a few different places. their most common OE application is in Porsche and Audi vehicles.

He is dead on. Never produced on a factory car. I had a thread awhile ago like this.
