how much modification needed to fit S4 B8 exhaust to A6 3.0T?

well, I've been offered (free) an aftermarket exhaust off an S4 B8, and was wondering if it would be easy to fit onto my A6 3.0T with some minor cutting and welding? I'm not keen to modify my stock exhaust but don't mind chopping up the aftermarket S4 exhaust.

I assume the downpipes flange are the same and hoping most of the mufflers utilise the same hangers.

Sorry i don’t have feedback on fitment, however, just be aware the exhaust may have very different results on the A6 given the different transmission, shift points, and overall sound dynamics of the chassis.. Although you’re overseas, so you may also have the DSG on your A6?

go to a muffler shop. Have them put the car on the lift place the free exhaust on the floor compare and quote install price and price of extension to make it fit.
Free and modified is perfectly fine.
