I am looking to find any information/experience with EPl's TCU tune. I currently have their Stage 2 93ron tune and plan on being straight E85 with a month. Is the TCU tune worth getting?

Here's APR's ZF tune in action: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/771336-Meaty-Gains

I was going to link that thread but I've written off APR already. I have a feeling there were some major issues for them not to release it by now.

Well- just read APR's most recent comments. Seems like quite the product to me. Only thing holding it up at this point is encryption/security from others copying the work.

Im ready when they are. I'm guessing it will be ready in 2 weeks.

Yeah- tell me about it. If it takes all year, I might end up selling the car. Track opens back up in 5 weeks, and I'm dead in the water until they get me something.

But 2 weeks afterward the competitors will be offering it as well. Hopefully more competitively priced.

We can benefit from a higher shift point.

There are generic tools that flash the ZF gearboxes, which is likely where they figured out how to flash it. Their actual TCU calibrations aren't worth copying.

Hey what's up DVS... Can you send me a video of your exhaust you posted of your car many moons ago. That has been one of my favorite exhaust notes for some time.

Any updates here? I understand there are a few beta tunes in the wild on ZF 8spd Audi's...
It seems the first to release will have the upper hand here. Maybe they are all waiting for someone else to go first?
Also, I know of a few folks purchasing the HPtuners MPVi2 and tuning their own with the help of Melen.

I called APR a few weeks ago asking about the new open air intake and then I asked the sales guy about the ZF8 C7 TCU tune and he didn't really know. Would be nice if APR would jump on and give us an update to see where they are at with things. I know they were focusing on product lines for the VW cars as of late but with the new release of the open air intake for the 3.0 motor on the B8/8.5 cars hoping the TCU upgrade will be here this year for the C7 platform.

How true that is I haven't a clue but that's the only answer I got other than don't hold your breath. I've scrapped all plans for mine because of that. It's a huge limiting factor.

Solutions exist. I suggest everyone with a zf get the TCU tune. The car finally moves as desired. The extra 800+ rpms is noticeable

Tuning the TCU is one of the best mods you can do. It's like going stage 2 all over again.

If anyone needs help tuning PM me.

I am hesitant because no one is posting before and after 1/4 numbers only 60ft. I worked at a transmission shop on college and everyone at the time wanted shift kits. It made the car feel alot better but didn't translate into 1/4 times. You had fun chirping tires on gear shift though.

Not sure how you can say getting an extra 800 increase in power band is not worth it. The S4 revs to what RPM and what does the A6 A7?

Finally the A6 and A7 can get closer to meeting its potential. The ultracharger and the TB upgrades are kind of useless without this newly found TCU flash. Imo.

Do u live your life quarter mile to quarter mile. Everyone that got it done is raving about it. Have you taken your car to a dyno as yet? Dont shade the upgrade. If you are worried save your pennies.

Its proven the 3.0t continues to build power past the 6300rpm stock redline all the way to 7200rpm. Even more if ported or have a larger TB. Not only are you making more HP than you did previously by extending the redline you're staying in a gear to extend that power for longer.

Once I've had the opportunity to do some good comparison runs I'll be happy to post before and after, but it's not a question of if.

APR shows this very clearly on their site for the S4.

I said "hesitant" and I am probably one of the most modded A7 and not scared to try something different. That does not change the actual feedback from users. No shade here p3u and Meleen have multiple messages from me and I started this tread months before this was even a viable option. There is a difference between data and opinion

No shade here p3u and Meleen have multiple messages from me and I started this tread months before this was even a viable option. There is a difference between data and opinionI hear you but that's also very confusing. Why inquiry if you dont believe there is value. But I guess that's semantics.

I hope you are respecting their times and just not asking a million questions just for you to pull the trigger. Especially since your one of the most modded A7 around.

Like I said modding is hobby. Simple logics will let you know there is a benefit. Look at the graphics shown from The APR marketing. Then you also read testimony from others.

Hesitant would be me for the throttle bottle without the TCU tune. Because I would not be getting the most out of that upgrade because of the short powerband. Now i dont have hesitation because my tuner Eurocharge can sort me out and i have the TCU tune to take advantage of the power i would have once missed.

With that being said. Sorry i came across rough but why stop at being one of the most modded A7 and become the most modded A7. (I cant see signatures via the app, what's your mod list?)

ZF TCU tunes are in beta testing and are expect to be released for certain TCU codes in the next 30 days.

YES these these flashes can be completed at home with existing EPL hardware and software [up] .
