So on my monsoon gray S4 when it has gotten cold here, in the 20’s, I can see what looks like perfectly straight impressions where the hood bracing is. I took it to my PDR guy and he said the glue and/or metal does that when it’s cold... I never noticed it before and on my wife’s b8 a4 (which is white) I don’t see it or can’t see it. I fear maybe the hood was pushed on too hard when it was being dried off recently....anyone else ever notice this? I will try and get some pics.

I've noticed this when there's a bit of snow on the hood of my RS4. The supports show through from the bottom. What makes sense to me is that the seams where the supports are provide better insulation and thus a bit warmer in turn melting the area above them. I've never been too worried

the seams where the supports are provide better insulation - This is 100% correct. I grew up in Upstate NY, I've seen this on a ton of cars over the years.

Yup. Literally nothing to worry about.
