I've only encountered this issue while it's cold and on the highway. Sometimes when in comfort mode my steering wheel will be unresponsive (slipping) at the 12 position, and then slips/catches at 1, I need to keep pulling on it until it catches, and then will engage. It's hard to explain, it feels notchy and like dynamic steering disengages then re-engages, super annoying. I didn't think too much of it until I had a "oh shit" moment while turning onto a exit ramp and the wheels didn't move and ended up oversteering because of the slip, (if it was snowing or there was ice I would have been in the ditch).
I dropped it off at the dealership a few weeks ago, said my alignment was off and paid for them to do alignment, didn't fix the issue. Bought it back this morning, they replaced the steering rack. I've read that the steering wheel module and steering rack are the cause of this issue. I'll report back once it gets cold again up here with good news hopefully.
Hopefully the video can help explain the issue, it looks like it's a well known problem as I've seen from researching the forum although I haven't seen any issues with S4s.
