I can't find anything in the realm of what I'm asking, so I figured I'd make a quick post

B8 s5 4.2

Besides the engine harness, ecu and relay, pedals, transmission itself, driveshaft, clutch accessories, shifter and linkages - what else would be needed for a manual swap?

I know I'm glazing over a million small things, I'm just wondering about the larger areas

Not 100% but the axles may be different from an auto to a manual. Also, you'll need manual downpipes I believe. Don't forget the shifter linkages, shifter, and interior trim.

I believe JHM has a swap list for the B5 or B6/B7. Most everything on that list will apply to a B8.

You'll likely need a new wiring harness and/or an ECU tune as well, aside from the obvious transmission and drive line components needed.

I did not know about the downpipes, thanks! Also I'll check out JHM

It may also involve cooling lines

I don't mind setting up my own lines for stuff, that's not too bad.

As far as I know there are no interior things (besides pedals and shifter and that jazz) I need to work with, electronically. That's my only worry, because then the interior harness would need changed, and oh boy I don't want to start pulling panels for that
