Finally found some really nice, well made H8 fog lights for my 2015 S4 from our friends in China, H11 bulbs cans be ordered for B8 Audi's too:

They packaging is well done but the fanless design was what I was after. Being in the business of building printed circuit board assemblies, the heat these LED's generate is tremendous. I wasn't keen on the fans as they would ultimately fail. The LED on the other hand could work indefinitely provided there was adequate heatsinking and the connections are all waterproof. Being that these are IP68 rated, water shouldn't be an issue. Heatsinking, there is plenty!
The color is pretty darn close to what I was looking for but most importantly the light output is awesome. What a difference over the stock fogs. I could actually see when I turned these on a much brighter difference. What's also nice about these is they are adjustable so you can turn the bulb lens to adjust the cutoff. For $43 and 18 days for delivery, couldn't be happier. Oh, and no bulb out or flickering issues :)

These are in a B8.5, I edited my OP.
They will work in a B8, I believe you have H11 bulbs instead of H8. Each can be ordered

Different LED, old COB LED technology.
Philips ZES LEDs are the latest.

Good suggestion for a yellow bulb if that's what you are looking for but you are comparing apples and oranges in LED technology here. The output of todays LED's require a massive heatsink. There is no heatsink on your bulb other than the circuit board which is made from aluminum.
The ones I have are all aluminum assemblies versus what you have for the reason of extremely high output from the heat generated from the LED. Not all LED's are the same and if you don't know what you are looking for, you are literally throwing good money away

You are correct, I posted the wrong link. As that was the first pair of fogs I ran. They looked good but light output wasn’t great.
I run these now but can’t find the yellow version anymore. These are super bright, and brighter than any fogs really need to be. These aren’t ZES but they are brighter than 55watt HIDs and light output is better IMO.

Nice find!
Did you get a chance to feel the heat sink fan blades after a few minutes of run time, to see how hot they get to touch? I'm just concerned that if they get too hot and are in contact with plastic parts in the fog light cavity, they may melt something.

Much better.
I am concerned on any bulbs with fans from a no-name source.

Fire is a concern with high powered LED's. That's why I opted for the large passive heatsink

I will check that for sure.....
As it's next to 1 degree here, life in the garage was not fun. There is nothing near the fog light assembly that it can come in contact with though.

Almost bought these but nowhere near the output of the ZES LEDs. Just so you understand, the base of your suggest LED has a heatsink too. There's nothing wacky about heat-sinking, various designs of metal to dissipate heat:

This also work and no error codes. For 1/2 the price and likely twice the output, I'll keep mine

Just an FYI, this picture shows that you can even put these inside a housing. With such a large heatsink, heat is never an issue. I will take my laser temp gauge and get readings off it...

I bought a set of these (https://www.hidconcept.com/collections/led-foglight/products/h11-hcx-led-golden-yellow-3000k-kit-pack-of-2#tab-2) HCX 3000k LED bulbs and have had them installed for a little over a year and they have worked flawlessly so far - no hiccups, no error codes, no melted housings, instant on. They are fanless and come with different colored filters for different light output, but the default filter that comes on the bulbs is the yellow filter pictured. I have not messed around with any of the other filters. They look like this in action with the default 3000k filter:

The lumen output on these are 1/3 of what I just bought. That's the issue with yellow, very difficult to get the same output. Are you guys after appearance with yellow LEDs versus useful lighting? The HCX's look to have a nice output but the others are pretty poor

Interesting - where did you see "heat pipe" mentioned?
In all honesty, I could not convince myself that these were fanless based on the technical details listed (which are sparse), but if I remember correctly Mike @ HIDConcept here on the forums convinced me that they were indeed fanless. Also odd that I cannot find reference to this 'HCX' brand anywhere but on the HIDConcept website that sells them. But in any case, it has been an $85 experiment that has been turning out in my favor for ~1 year so I have no complaints thus far.
Also FWIW, these LEDs do a pretty decent job at projecting light forward but more notably provided a substantial increase in peripheral lighting.

LOL touché
I admit the filter concept seemed cheesy to me, but I've been really happy with the light output and color so I suppose the ends justify the means. I'm curious to try out the next higher color 'temperature' filter to see if I can get closer to matching the DRLs. I have to say, though, that the color and brightness of yours seems perfect. Have you used them in rain/fog and if so, were they effective? I know the theory is that bright light with higher color temperatures can actually decrease visibility in those conditions so I'm curious to see your review on that.

Just popped them in last night. Haven't had a chance to check them out in adverse conditions yet although there is a blizzard expected for tomorrow :)
My goal was all about no errors, no heat and increased light output at night. These checked all the boxes. Worthwhile $43 gamble, curious about longevity. Hope they are a lifetime bulb. They have a pretty good shot as they are well hidden from the elements, IP68 rated, and appear very well made. I will certainly post back here if they die!

It is my understanding that yellow fog lights are actually more useful in a given situation where a fog light would be used?

That has been my understanding as well. It has something to do with the way the light refracts or reflects through the water droplets, where whiter light can cause more of a white-out condition while yellower light can help to boost visibility. I have never done a side by side comparison, and I do not know all of the science behind it.

Totally agree with you guys. For me, I am more about night driving than adverse conditions. I typically stay home if it sucks out. I am a fair weather golfer too, lol!
But either white/yellow, they need to project some decent light with whatever you purchase. I'll consider risking my life tomorrow for the benefit of the forum ;)

A little bit of creative marketing on these "6000 Lumen" ZDATT LED bulbs.....from your picture, each bulb has 4 ZES LED chips. From the ZES datasheet, the brightest chip model (depends on color temp K) puts out 245 Lumens average...so the total from each bulb is actually 980 Lumens...not even close to 6000.....

They are all very creative with lumen advertising.
It is however 8 LED's, 4 on each side on the H8's and 16 LEDs on others. The design of the assembly and glass also has effect on what type of real output you will get. I picked the ZES because some of our lighting customers use these and they know what they are doing.

I'm really looking for a fog light/turn signal indicator combo that looks similar.
Unfortunately, your Hoen Endurance output looks closer to the OEM amber turn signal...

I ordered these as well, took about two to three weeks to receive them, waiting for a free weekend to install, thanks for the link!
They do have a unique way of selection, you HAVE to click the "6000k cold white", "CHINA", etc., even thou that's the only option, you still need to click it. Mine were shipped with a pair of white gloves inside as well, which I thought was a nice touch!

I'm looking forward to the install, did you put the car on the jacks or just turn the wheels while they were on ground, one at a time to open the wells?
I just need them to brighten up the edges of the roads, especially when going thru curvy, one lane mountain roads with no town lights, nothing like having small animals dart out in front of you!
I only see dense fog once every few years, so I don't care for that part of use for them.

I hadn’t. My prior knowledge at the time didn’t want to set up ballasts and so forth with the possible “burnt housings” so I went LED. I wish we could have a fog light comparison thread but pictures never do justice

Are you still satisfied with these? No errors or anything? I want a really bright set of fogs to match my headlights (or be very close to them). I have a set of HID fog's on my BMW, and they work great, but every now and then one will go out until I cycle the fog lights off and on again. Has only happened 2 times in the couple months that I've had them installed. (I don't drive the BMW a whole lot though). I hate the factory fog lights. They look cheap compared to the headlights on these cars.
Thank you.

I ordered these fog lights myself based on fmzip's recommendation and pics. My car has LED fogs from the previous owner, but they are a tad blue for my taste and don't really match the headlights that well. After I saw these I figured the color match looks much better and the price point was really good as well. Only downside is the shipping time, but it is coming from overseas so it is what it is.

Yep, passive cooling was a must-have for me. These lights have been rock solid for the past ~1 year that I've been running them.
One weird thing is that the yellow color is achieved using plastic filters that wrap around the LED bulb, and the bulbs come with a couple other color filters but I don't think any of them will give a pure white DRL-matching color (although I haven't tried), so if that's what someone is after then these bulbs may not be for them.

Yep, it's weird and I almost didn't buy them for that reason. However, HIDConcept made a convincing sales pitch at the time and I went for it. Again, I've been really happy with the results and functionally they are very good, so I can 'forgive' the cheesy color filter as the ends seem to justify the means.

Just got some HCX in yellow size H11 for my S5 which calls for H8. They fit perfectly! I slapped on the yellow film and the output is is exactly what I wanted. Got them from HIDConcept as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

My set were just delivered the other day and I installed them. I feel like the color difference is pretty obvious though between the HIDs and the fogs. I thought it was going to be a lot closer of a match based on your pics. I will say they are super bright and I could notice a big difference of how wide an area they cover compared to the previous LEDs that were on the car.

Thanks for sharing! I ordered the bulbs and put them in this weekend, they look great! How should the adjustable heat sink be positioned? I put the bulb into the housing and flared the heat sink to be as close to the back of the housing as possible. It's basically flat. Is that the way it goes?

I bought a set of these (https://www.hidconcept.com/collections/led-foglight/products/h11-hcx-led-golden-yellow-3000k-kit-pack-of-2#tab-2) HCX 3000k LED bulbs and have had them installed for a little over a year and they have worked flawlessly so far - no hiccups, no error codes, no melted housings, instant on. They are fanless and come with different colored filters for different light output, but the default filter that comes on the bulbs is the yellow filter pictured. I have not messed around with any of the other filters. They look like this in action with the default 3000k filter:

Checking in with both of you. We had our first snow of the season yesterday. Any issues/concerns/hiccups?
Does anyone know the lumen output of the stock fogs vs either of these? I am leaning towards yellow because of snow. Can't you get the ZDATs and just put some yellow laminex over the fog lens-cover?
Any more thoughts on the impact of yellow vs white? I never knew there was a difference, other than style, but I also have a set of glasses with orange lenses I use when it's snowing in the day to help with contrast... just didn't make the connection.

I just bought some stuff from Amazon. So far so good. It's been a lot better than the HID stuff I got. I went through two HID fog lights, and the left side of the car (looking at it) always goes off, and I know that it's the water getting into it.
The LED is comparable but less brighter than the HID, but it's reliable, which is what I want. It's bright and reliable.
Best part of these built in heat sink LED fog lights were that:
1. Quiet
2. Plug and play
3. Done in 5 minutes.
4. Bright and functional
5. Good seal to keep the water out.

Piece of cake, turn your wheels in one direction and you can get to both sides without turning the wheels the other way. Remove the lowest screw on the wheel liner and that's enough to reach inside, unplug the OEM bulb, then assemble the heat sinks (fans) onto the new bulbs, look at the 3 lock prongs and how they align, since one is larger then the other two and plug it back in. The wires they give you are long, so it's easy to connect those, then zip tie the slack and tuck it inside.

There are LEDs out there that are brighter than HIDs now. Like these for example https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/CNSUNNYLIGHT-Car-Headlight-LED-H7-H11-H8-9005-HB3-9006-HB4-9012-D1-D2-D3-D4/1473227_32822593781.html I'm tempted to pick up a set to try out.
I ran these ones for a while, https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Led-H11-110W-10400LM-LumiLeds-MZ-LED-Car-Headlight-Canbus-Kit-3000K-5000K-6000K-Replace-Halogen/1473227_32622601356.html and they were much brighter than my headlights, but the beam pattern was garbage and threw the light everywhere, blinding oncoming traffic so I took them out.

You just turn the fogs off and back on - most dual color lights require it within the same two seconds to change the color.

If you do dual color light you need Vagcom or OBDeleven to turn off the "cornering light" function or the colors will get out of sync. I uses a similar setup and it just wasn't worth it.

Bumping this thread. I recently just installed the LED's from the OP's link from AliExpress. I was extremely happy with the output. But now, I just saw this new multi-mode one from deAutoLED.com. I'm curious if any of the experts here can chime in if it's worth it. I really like that it has the multi modes (white, yellow & strobe option). Apologies, I did not see this post two months ago! My HCX fog lights are still going strong with no issues to my knowledge. The 3000k yellow color is helpful both in the fog and rain/mist.
These LEDs are pure white but come with color filters, so I am currently using the ‘3000k’ filters. I prefer this approach over applying a filter to the fog housing lens itself because when my fog lights are off, I don’t see yellow anymore.

Sorry to bring this one back from the dead, but after a bunch of research I decided to ~attempt~ to order the fog light bulbs via the OP's link. After a bunch of attempts, the website just kept saying that my payment failed. A quick google search tells me that this is a common problem with them... Has anyone had any luck when ordering from this site? And if so, any tips/tricks you can share so I can actually place the order?

I placed two separate orders with them using either a Visa or MC and had no issues.
I wonder if your bank has fraud protection and flags it. Is your Bill to and Ship to address the same? If not, at times it may also trigger it. If you used a credit card, call your cc carrier and see if they can pull a log on the transaction as I run into these issues (order failed) on daily bases from our work customers trying to purchase from us (not related to this thread).

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, Bill To and Ship To are the same. I did try using a Visa, and that's a good point about the fraud protection. I'll have to give them a call and see if that's it. I've read that some folks used a different browser (or completely different computer) and it pushed it through. I'll have to try all of the above. Thanks again!

I recall vaguely that I had to set up a verified user account with Ali Express as the first step. During that, you then provide a credit card number. Once that was all setup, you could THEN place an order

I recently installed the LEDs from Ali Express and am wondering... did anyone adjust their fogs after swapping the bulbs out? I feel like I get quite a bit of light spread especially off to the sides. For example, the entire side barrier is illuminated when driving on the freeway.

Ah! Thank you, I will give that a whirl as well. I also got an email (written in very broken English) asking if I'm having any issues. If I still can't push it through, I'll reply to them and see if they can help. Thanks all!

That's what fogs do.

Every fog I've ever had cut off below the headlight cut off. The forward cut off is correct on my car but it's like these housings scatter light vertically as you reach ~45 degrees from forward facing on to 90 degrees. If I'm driving next to a 15 foot tall sound barrier next to the freeway, the entire height is illuminated. I didn't have this with the halogen bulbs before.

These are awesome for under $30. But they make the xenon’s look yellow. Hard to tell from the pics.

Same as yours. Thanks for the tip!
I had a cracked fog light lens, so I got a cheap pair for $20, also AliExpress. I tried installing just the one side, but the lens material did not match the OEM side, so I just put both housings on. That might be the reason since the new housing lens is clearer. The color difference doesn’t bother me since I got a pair of housings and LED bulbs for $50! Dealer quoted me $80 just for a single replacement housing.

Yall know alieexpress has the same lights as deautokey...
They were posted on Facebook and a few people bought them and looked legit. I bought a set and these are amazing. They flash white yellow warm. For $50 and 3weeks shipping, totally worth it!

I’ve started to search AliExpress for everything I find on Amazon and Ebay. For example I got these on AliExpress for $3.

Identical in every way, including the packaging. You just need to be patient. 3 week shipping is hard to get used to.

Has anyone found decent ZES leds for the fog lights in H8/H11?
I've been looking around and it seems the ones in op are only available in 6000k and the other yellow ones zdatt offers are the cob LED

Hey FM need your assistance again!
After running these for over 3 years, today one of them went out. I was going to reorder the same, since I love how the white light matches the OEM headlight brightness but they are discontinued on that site.
Since you are in the biz, any suggestion on a similar replacement these days?
Thanks!

Buy something from theretrofitsource.com or lightwerkz or even deautoLED if you want something with good quality. Morimoto makes a number of fitments for Audi for actual LED housings and everything. Not sure what versions of the S4 they fit though.
Either way all of those options are much higher quality than the junk on AliExpress. They cost a little more but will last a lot longer and some have lifetime warranties and are actually designed to be functional vs just match color and scatter light everywhere.

Thanks for the tips, I'll check them out.
The ones FMZip found are actually very good. I dont live in an area with fog, however I do drive at night in poorly lit areas where small animals and pot holes pop up, so these fogs spread the light pattern real well to cover a wide lower floor/corners of the road.
I'm also a stickler for color matching and these are right on par in white color to the head lights, hence why I want to match them. I dont mind paying a little more for quality, as long as I get what I'm looking for.
I saw the deautoled as I bought their other products but the color match does not seem on par with head lights from the pics I saw (unless someone here tells me different) and going from $45 to $144 for a similar purpose product seems a bit out there, in comparison with others on the market.

I’ve had several halogen replacements and one very cheap led. I had the deauto for 3 years and they put out an unbelievable amount beyond the headlights. Particularly the yellow which I use 100%. They put out more than the white. Now as far as matching headlights it would depend on what color headlights you have. The deauto white matches the DRLs. My headlights are the oem color which is a little more yellow. Do you want looks or fogs that put out light
