I decided to park my S4 for the winter to try and keep her nice for as long as possible as I have a truck to drive during the shitty salty months up here in Canada. I put it away the way that you're supposed to and have been hooking up the battery tender a few times a month. It has been really cold up here for the past 3 weeks and I went to unlock the doors and it was stone dead... I used the actual key to open the door so that I cold pop the hood and hook up the tender to the remote boosting/charging posts. Once I hooked it up I noticed that all of the lights on the dash were blinking on and off... Has anyone experienced this? Is it just due to the battery being drained down so low maybe? I'm going to go out and see if it has stopped doing that in a bit. Would I be better off to hook it up directly to the battery in the trunk so that it charges quicker/easier... I may just hook up an actual charger right to the battery and see what happens! Let me know if anyone has experienced this with the dash lights before!
Thanks!

yes, its just because the battery was completely drained down.
i would just leave the battery tender on it all the time (if its a good one it shouldnt be any issue)

Totally agree with this if you are going to leave it sit for that long at a time. I used one with no problems for 6 weeks one winter, when I stored my first Audi without starting it. Have both Weathertech and "Battery Tender" brand chargers.

Did you know you were going to park it when buying? Seems an odd car to store for winter. If I had a two car garage I'd be storing something RWD like M3

I had planned on driving it during the winter, but one day I was driving along behind a truck and a big chunk of ice fell from the wheel well onto the road in front of me and I ended up having to hit it because there was another car right on my ass and another one coming towards me in the other lane. It ended up smashing my front bumper and tore the plastic skid plate right off from below the engine. So that and the fact that I'd like to keep the car in good shape and not have the salt destroying everything are the reasons that I decided to park it. I have a truck and SUV to drive in the winter. My SRT8 Challenger is parked beside the S4 in the garage.

I'm wishing now that I would have just kept it on the whole time...

There is a way of locking the car without activating the alarm, there’s less of a drain on the battery then

Thanks! I'll have to look into that!
