Anyone with a tune. Do you know if onced tuned I'd you notice or were you told that the limiter that increased your top speed past 155 had been removed or no longer in place? I am not stating this is for hooligan usage and know that really would not be utilized often but in certain instances, it would be nice to have a higher top speed.

I am also really looking at the flash at home options since I will be out of the country for the next few years and may not be local to a reputable shop with tuning capabilities.

Thx, Dave

Can confirm. Tune removed limiter. Closed test track was able to hit 170 before I ran out of space. You can find videos online of the B8/8.5 hitting 190+.

^ Which tunes remove it? Seen it stated here that EPL keeps it in place. Not sure if that’s still the case.

166 seems to be APR 93oct tune top speed, closed track tested. Not sure about the race file.

Thanks guys for responding. I am heading to Germany for three years and would have enjoyed the increased top end where allowed of course.

Messaging with Chris at EPL, he stated that it is company policy to leave it in place and do not know how to remove it. I am disappointed in myself for not asking the question until after purchasing the tune. It was my fault for assuming that they removed the limiter since I thought I had heard that others did. I was just trying to see if I was crazy for remembering or if it was actually the case.

Absolutely not. Can confirm APR 93 stage 1 does over 175

You must have more free straight than me, I've had a good solid mile of clear space to roll on from 70 all the way up to 166 and it just dies as soon as it shifts into 6th.

Are you sure both of you have the TCU tune? It may be the TCU tune that gives the extra mph, maybe not, I'm not sure and don't remember all the benefits of the TCU tune

I think unitronic offers flash from home and speed limiter removal.

I've done 180+ with both my Revo and 034 setups.

034 hasn't finished their tune from home setup but you could reach out to see if they can lend you a tuning cable.

Another great option is Integrated Engineering. I'm not sure where they are at on their software though.

I thought about this. I just purchased EPL stg 1 and they do not have a 30 day guarantee since they let you sell the tune. I will say though, I have a had some logistical issues (not EPL's fault) and Chris has been all over it. Their customer service is on point. I just wish we could talk them into removing the limiter like all, or at least most other companies. I would even pay a little more for it. It is the only real drawback I see ATM. I would like for it to be comparable to all the other offerings out there. I am sure guys with DP are somewhere in the low to mid 400 awhp, so they can shoot up to 155 and just stall there.

I don’t know what EPL’s policy is, but on their facebook page there were tunes(again, I dont know what platform)that integrated removal of said speed limiter

I would venture to say it’s with a race tune, but that’s speculation on my part

I have searched and found that the 2010 B8 S4 6MT top speed is 155mph from the factory on an oem tune. My car only has a CW STG1 on it that doesn't have the ability to change oem settings and I have GPS verified 160mph (it was still pulling.) Does that mean my car is tuned?

I hit 320km/h in my Stage 1 s4, 6mt. Done on a very long private road car still had a lot to give however my fuel tank did not.

200 mph, with more in it, on a stage 1?? On pump gas? [emoji848]

That speed requires ~7300 RPM, FWIW.

When I say a lot more to give I mean it can go faster with more mods put in. And yes it did hit 7,300 range if that’s any worth. If I can get a co pilot to tag along I’ll post proof
