Dashboard light and message came on in my 2017 A3. Looked in the owners manual and said to clear any debris or leaves from the front sensor; which is located near the bottom of the grill. There were no leaves or any sort of debris on the sensor but the light came on initially when I was driving in some crazy rain. I parked, went to work and just now driving home, the dashboard light was still on and it wasn’t raining nearly as hard as before.

Anyone have similar experiences? My car only has 5k miles so far but stupid, little things like this irritate me.

Hello Rod,

Thank you for reaching out and making us aware. It may be a good idea to swing by your local Audi dealership and have them take a look at the sensor and see if anything is askew. The sensor could be blocked or hampered in some way or there could be some type of electrical malfunction or glitch with the sensor. It's tough for me to say in my vantage point as I am not a trained technician. If you would like to send me a PM with your VIN and contact information I am happy to perform some research for you and even reach out to your dealership if necessary. Please let me know if you have any questions.

It is too bad that Audi does this.
Maybe next time you go in, bring a bottle of some Grey Goose for the SA?
All this type of non-service does is make us not want to buy another Audi.

Not sure how the A3 works but the A4 has the camera for Pre Sense behind the windshield above the rear view mirror. If you are driving into the sun or if there is snow/ice over the camera you will get the message you saw. If it is the sun, it will clear itself once you change direction or the sun sets.

Thanks everybody for the tips. I just made an appt with the dealer to have it checked out and find out what the real issue is.
