Wanted to get your view on this car I’m looking at

http://www.audibrooklyn.com/used/Audi/2014-Audi-S4-brooklyn-ny-ebb0484f0a0d04fe240ada57813f790f.htm

The dealer isn’t looking (maybe not willing to at all) to budge on the price. The mileage is low and nice but there are others on their lot that have slightly higher mileage. They lowballed me on my trade (07 A4 with 82k) at 3k which I expected given its age and such.

When I looked at the car I didn’t see anything in person. This dealer kind of sucks however. So probably going to pass on it. I get annoyed when I’m getting pressured to put a deposit down without knowing final pricing outside of some preliminary numbers.

That particular dealer has such a shitty reputation. I would stay far away from them.
In Sept. I was able to find a S5 using Car Gurus. I wasn't finding a selection I was happy with in the 50 mile radius so I expanded the radius and was able to find a lightly used S5 at a dealers in Pa with 12,000 miles on it.
Good luck in your search, I hope that I helped you find a gem.
My son just started the latest class at the FDNY academy by the way two weeks ago..!!
Happy Holidays and stay safe.

$3K, wow! Is it in bad shape? I would have expected $1-2K more but that is me basing off of my 3.2L. I would think they could get $6K for it, at least.

BTW, New Country Audi in Greenwich treated me fairly on my S4. They have a couple used ones.

I’ve never had any positive interactions with any dealerships in the 5 boros. The sales people are extremely pretentious and act like they’re millionaires themselves. No thanks.

@surfer8210 good luck to your son in probie school.

Thank you, I checked car gurus site after reading your post and saw a couple of nice low mileage vehicles fairly close by.

I had heard from someone they had changed but doesn’t seem to be the case. They just aren’t good at selling cars. Trying to pretty much set me up with a delivery date before actually giving me a price was weird as heck to me

Good luck to your son, it’s a long and tough academy but at the end it’s a great job. I’m actually currently looking at 3/4 disability because I destroyed my ankle at work. The weather has to be rough being at the Rock. I did my class almost 10 years ago in July. It was hot as all hell but I hate cold, worked for me.

The only area that has any sort of dings is the rear bumper, can’t help it living in the city. It’s never been in an accident or anything of that sort. They upped it to 3500 when they saw I wasn’t exactly ecstatic about their offer, all in all I felt like they were trying to work me. Which obviously I’m not a fan of. I’m going to continue my search and see what else I find. Someone mentioned CarGuru which a friend of mine had told me about so I’m going to take a look there

Search continues!

Best wishes. I love Autotrader and cars.com. I conducted my nationwide search over two years using those two ... and Cargurus toward the end. Nearly all dealership inventory of lightly used Audis can be covered using Autotrader and Cars.com.
