Iv'e been having problems after I went back to stock for the state inspection and then re-tuned the ECU and TCU to stage 2. It would hang on the 4th 5th gear and feel like the fuel was cut off. Ran the TCU adaptation and bang perfectly smooth. VCDS FTW

TCU adaptation ? Is it like recalibration clutch thru VCDS ? If not , any step by step guide ?

Yes that is exactly it. It's on Ross-Tech's site and it worked, I thought I had so mecatronic issues but it s fine now.

Here is the procedure
Warm Car Up:
Procedure 1: (If you are flashing Engine and DSG)
1. Flash DSG file FIRST
2. Flash Engine Controller
3. Start Car put in drive but do not release the brake for approx 60 seconds.
4. Lightly accelerate and manually shift below 2500 rpm through as many gears as you can before running out of space (1-2-3-4 would be ideal).
Procedure 2: (If you have VAGCOM)
1. Flash DSG.
2. Do a FULL control DTC scan and clear all codes.
3. Start Car put in drive but do not release the brake for approx 60 seconds.
4. Lightly accelerate and manually shift below 2500 rpm through as many gears as you can before running out of space (1-2-3-4 would be ideal).
Procedure 3: (If you have already flashed the engine ECU at an earlier date and do not have VAGCOM)
1. Flash DSG file FIRST
2. Re-Flash Engine Controller
3. Start Car put in drive but do not release the brake for approx 60 seconds.
4. Lightly accelerate and manually shift below 2500 rpm through as many gears as you can before running out of space (1-2-3-4 would be ideal).

Fwiw I found this:
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/7-Speed_S-Tronic_Direct-Shift_Gearbox_(DSG/0B5)
I believe basic settings are the same as adaptation?

I see the recommandation from EPL is much different than the one form ross-tech. care to explain why Chris ?

I use Ross-tech procedure to get stronger launches when I’ve been driving like a grandma for too long.
After I recalibrate, I launch and drive it like I stole it. Brings the car back to life.

If I flashed from Stg 1 to Stg 2... should I reflash my tcu as well? Then reflash to Stg 2...

The list that I posted is for 3 different scenarios

When going from Stage 1 to Stage 2 there is no need to reflash the TCU tune.

I mean.. there's an obvious difference between ;

Check and clear any fault codes
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]
Perform a test drive and check for fault codes again after doing so.
( where it requires the car to be re-started a few times)
then just flash the tcu :
1. Flash DSG.
2. Do a FULL control DTC scan and clear all codes.
3. Start Car put in drive but do not release the brake for approx 60 seconds.
4. Lightly accelerate and manually shift below 2500 rpm through as many gears as you can before running out of space (1-2-3-4 would be ideal).
From my understand, the EPL TCU flash DOES NOT recalibrate the clutch pack compared to the VAG-com procedure.

OP? Anyone? Got my car used so it's intriguing to reset the adaptations
