I want to install the roc euro and remove it for dealer so I don't get td1 (maybe) if I am worried. I have not installed it but saw some guides where the heat shield has toggle bolts to hold it in place. How do you remove it? Do you just unscrew it? does one and of the toggle bolt just fall down somewhere into the engine abyss if you remove it? Thanks

When I removed mine the toggle bolts were lost and I never re-installed the heat shield. Someone else may have better experience with it then I did.

Toggle bolts will fall but you can fish them out with a magnet wand.

Is it bad to run without heat shield? I only ask bc of hassle to remove. I can permanently install after warranty expires which is coming up.

alright I'm gonna let my car cool and install this w/o heat shield unless someone tells me not to do so.

you should for sure use the heat shield. Just get a magnetic wand and fish the toggles out when you remove it. You can buy new toggles at Home Depot. Not that difficult.

Don't use the toggle bolts. Drill and tap a couple of holes and use real stainless steel bolts.

I would recommend NOT doing this.
The heatshield, as well as being a shield, also provides a support structure for the actual intake tubes.
Without this support, there is a possibility of excessive vibration and weight being applied to your turbo intakes, as well as the pipes themselves coming lose at the joint.
