Gents, need some help. I had a bunch of CEL codes and dropped the car off to the dealer. At first it was an 02 fault sonI sent it to the dealer to confirm. They came back and said I have an possible exhaust leak and both banks with rich and lean codes.
They recommended replacing the entire exhaust, all 02 sensors and catalytic converter.

Im no expert, but this sounds too aggressive. I have AWE catback, and Stage I tune. I used to have a USP intake but since put the stock intake on. Its when I put the stock intake on that I started getting the 02 sensor codes. Could be coincidence.

Dealer says the tune basically ruined my cats and 02 sensors. But I have no idea why they want the whole exhaust replaced.

Has anyone else experienced cats and 02 sensors going bad from a Stage I tune from APR? Any recommendations on where I should start.

My thoughts were to tighten exhaust bolts etc, clear code and wait. If it comes back, replace 02 sensors. Clear codes and wait. If it comes back replace Cat converter.

Thoughts? Im just worried the Lean bank code is hurting my motor. Any help would be appreciated. This is on a 2013 S7 with about 62K miles. Thanks guys.

Perfect time for stage 2. Buy yourself some APR downpipes, change your o2 sensors for good measure and enjoy the power?

Sorry I'm not more help. Im having issues with my '13 as well. 88k miles and shes already cost me a few bucks being out of warranty. I'd clear the codes out, do some driving and see what comes back.

Haha, thanks. Will remember that. I hope to hear from APR tomorrow. The alternative is to shop for an 18 C63.

If your getting both a lean and rich code on each bank i would start with af sensors. Does the car back fire more or any when you let off the gas?

It's likely your cats... Not sure why you went to the dealer with a tune on...

Edit: whoops wrong forum. Thought this was the s4 forum. What codes were you getting?

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkGreat option there. I love the new E63 as well. Gotta have awd in my case. Im hung up on that or an S8. I just might part ways with my S6.

Ill pick up the car tomorrow and try to get the actual codes. I have a lack of confidence with my service advisor as he couldnt even tell me which 02 sensor was bad. His response was , the fix was do everything or do nothing. I dont think I want open heart surgery right away just because I have difficulty breathing

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkLol find a new dealer....

None of the stuff he recommended was a fix..

It's gotta be o2 sensors or cats... or something upstream.

At least on this car, it's easy to swap.. I'm slightly jealous.

What fuel are you running and what tune octane setting? How many miles did you put on after the intake swap? Could be that the ECU had adjusted enough from the previous intake that the new intake caused some issues and it may take time for the ECU to adjust. May want to change tunes to rest the learning, clear the codes and put on some miles without getting on the car too hard and see what happens. May also be time to check the plugs or just replace them.

Hmm sounds like a plan. I use 93 and have had the 93 tune since Aug 2016. I literally swapped the intake to stock about 3 months ago when this started. Maybe it is adaptation. Ill try to go stock for ‘ahem’ a week or two. Thanks.

Is the stock filter clean? Is everything installed properly with the intake? Seems like the change back to the stock intake created some type of issue. Have you cleared the codes at all at home and are they coming back or did they fire and just never go away?

iowars7, yeah refitted the intake once. And cleared codes 3 times in over 3 months. Codes were only for 02 sensors bank 1 or 2 lean. Took about a month each time to come back. This is the first time I got the new codes for the lean/ rich on both banks. Dealer did not give me the codes so I will have to check when I pick it up today. Thanks for everyone’s input.

Hmmmm, mine threw a 0420 code for the 2nd time in two weeks shortly after I flashed it with a Stage I tune. Either a cat going bad or sensor... does anyone make test pipes for the C7 A6?

Well Im definitely replacing my driver’s side downstream 02 sensor.
So is it the 02 sensor after Cat Converter coming from the driver’s side manifold and curved towards the passenger side? Or is it the one coming from the passenger aide manifold then is on the cat located at the driver’s side after the bends?
Im confused now. And since the 02 sensors are all different, I was hoping someone could confirm this for me. Thanks.
