2003 Audi RS6 is the car.
Mileage is about 120K.
Timing belt service done summer of 2016.

Have owned this car going on maybe 7 years and it has never let me down nor left me stranded.........until this morning!

Any help would be greatly helpful.

Here are my codes from VAG:

From a quick search while waiting for tow truck results seem to point towards faulty fuse or relay? Fuel pump 20A fuse is fine. NOt sure which relay to address.

Any ideas, advice? Besides the obvious......go pick up an RS3........

I am sure this can be the same troubleshooting across the C5 platform.

Thanks in advance!

I had a short to ground on the cyl #5 coil pack. There's a large bundle of wires that get run over a small metal "shelf" attached to the driver's side firewall. The edge of that shelf wore its way through the multiple layers of insulation and caused the short. Tough to find but easy fix.

Assuming all the easy issues (fuses, relays, etc) are ruled out I'd recommend getting the ohmmeter out and tracing some wires.

Thanks for the tip, that's good to watch out for.

Quick update:
Update, found fuse #32 (ecu fuse). Replaced it and it tried to start then blew again. What could be shorting fuse #32? Visual inspection doesn't uncover any grounded wires.

Not a answer for the specifics, but grab a multimeter, set it to continuity. trace the +12 wire from the fuse and see which section of the wire shows continuity with ground. I had to trace one of these in the B5 S4 last year was horrible but found the wire that was shorted, repaired and solved the issue.

Best of luck

Quick update for those who may come after me.....
Got advice from a forum member on the RS6 forums to check a circulation valve, N214: Part #: 4B3 121 411.........Bingo!
Circulation valve is located on the driver side frame right behind the radiator. Seems it is on the same circuit as the injectors and ECU.
I disconnected the valve, replaced the 20 amp fuse then sparked her up. Success!
I ordered the replacement valve and will update when she is all buttoned up.

I appreciate all the additional input provided here. This is what 'community' is all about!

Hopefully my resolution can help someone else in the future.
