Ok so i seafoamed my car this weekend according to the writeup. While i was sucking in the seafoam i noticed a lot of the white smoke around the turbo area. Didnt last long so i couldnt see where it came from. Also after letting it sit and starting the car, thick smoke would only come out the exhaust while revving? any ideas guys? thanks

Did you drip any seafoam or any liquid on the turbo while doing this? Sounds like you were just burning off crap thats on the turbo..

someone didn't search....

it's normal for white smoke to come from turbo area when doing seafoam...

That is normal also, you are probably getting some seafoam that was stuck in the intake manifold and when you rev it, it comes out if it's little cracks and holes and gets burned up... Either that or you are sloshing it around more on the piston top causing it to burn off quicker... But yeah, everything is normal...

I did it the other day, along with changing the plugs and an engine flush. IMO it made a difference in the way the car runs...Good thing to do for under 10 bucks

Under $10!! Damn that cheap is expensive!! At least $7 a can and I use two... But yeah, under $10 if you only do the engine flush...

can i seafoam the intake manifold part without having to change the oil after? or does the seafoam reach the crankcase either way? thanks

You should be ok. Some people pour it directly into the crankcase.

Everyone's talking about this "seafoam" but I never looked into it until now. What improvements have you noticed from using it? On a scale of 1-10 how much of a PITA is it to do?

recommend doing it before or after an oil change?

Read my write up in the DIY... Do it about one tank before doing an oil change... I get two cans of it... One for the gas tank, and one for the oil and one for the comubstion cleaning... I use about a 1/2 and 1/2 for the last can... But I will put a bottle in the tank before I fill up completely and when that tank runs out do the combustion cleaner and change oil... So it is like...

Seafoam in gas tank (1 can)
1/2 can in oil
Drive till almost empty (1/8th tank or so)
1/2 can for combustion cleaning
Change oil after combustion cleaning...

what if you poured it into the oil, ran till empty, then changed the oil. Then a few days later did the combustion, would you change the oil again?
