Hi Guys,

Who knows what the differences are in the core support between the V6 and V8 models. Trying to figure out if it'll be easier to use a 4.2 Allroad core support or drop a rad into my stock 2.7T core support.

Some research has yielded that the Allroad 4.2 rad is 2" wider than the 2.7T unit, but the core support doesn't appear to change, and the exterior of the 4.2 variants are the same as the V6 counterparts. If that's the case, I'll buy a 4.2 rad and shoehorn it into the 2.7T core support.

Ideas welcome!

If I'm not mistaken, the radiator outlets on the 2.7T are upper driver's side and lower passenger side, while the 4.2 has both on the passenger side ...

However there is enough room to move the rad forward enough to just plumb in the 2.7T rad if I really have to

Upon further inspection of the pictures radiators, you'll notice that the 4.2 radiator is noticeably thinner on the right side of the rad compared to the 2.7T unit.

It also looks like the left side is also somewhat smaller. I'm gonna go on a hunch and say that the 4.2 Allroad core support is the same between Allroads.

Time to grab up a 4.2 Allroad Rad

ETKA giver 2 different part numbers: 4Z7805588 for V6 and 4Z7805588D for V8. Looking at pictures they're very similar but not identical, biggest differences I saw are the threaded mounts for what I assume are electric fans (missing on v6), and different cutouts for the rad inlets/outlets. Rad mounting looks the same though, so you should be able to make it work with some modifications.
