i have just got many mods on my 2000 a4 1.8t FWD and i don't think i ve ever heard a ko4 that loud. im wondering do i need a front mount intercooler before the summer cuz i live in miami? if i do, can i get installed on a stock front bumper or i need to do the s4 converstion. so far with my turbo kit im running stock boost at 7psi but once i bring it back to the shop to send the ecu to cali my car will push 20 psi without problem or blowin internals.[a4] [wrench]

I'd say yes. Miami is hot but also humid. If you don't want to spend much johnnyracecar.com has decent FMICs for a resonable price

You need to try and search for this topic. It's been discussed before.

you can fit a FMIC under your stock bumper w/ minimal modification to it and the support. Look a few threads down for the ER FMIC. Also, check out EVOMS.

Man, some topics are just beaten to death, but they never die.

What do you mean loud? Do you have an exhaust leak or something?

When you say your k04 is loud, is it loud when you first start building boost? If its a screeching sound it probably your bpv. You should def. Get a fmic or upgraded smic. The stocker just can't hang. There are a bunch of intercooler options. Evo, greddy, racetec, abt, & tyrolspor. Take a look at them all.

Yea, search around. Many FMIC and or SMIC option for you. No need to upgrade bumper, it will fit with stock a4 front

Now why would you think you would blow the internals just at 20psi on a K04? The GIAC K04 chip for the 2000 runs 28+ psi.

im not sure what exact size my injectors are because my car still needs one more time in the shop to reprogram the ship and check a few internals such as the maf and coil packs.

Why do you need special programming, just run the GIAC J31 file.

i already have a neuspeed ecu can i still get the j31 file on it? is that the best or is there a better file for that chip?

Well they can just post on one of the related threads. Then make a new post to get more specifics about their particular application.

The boards are dead but this helps it because while the first page is filled with the same fluff other posts getted missed... [:(]

Well I would rather see the same question asked a few times then the all of those that just "BUMP" their own posts over and over to keep it on the 1st page.
