View Full Version : Lowering options for RS7 with DRC

I'm looking for options for a very mild drop for my RS7. NJ roads are not good but I'm curious what's out there for the DRC cars. I want to drop the wheel size down to 20s and close the fender gap a little but by no means slam the car to the ground.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you

You can either lower with KW lowering kit or convert to air. There is a guy in California who converted his RS7 performance from DRC to air ride with Accuair kit.

Run thicker tires. H&R makes lowering springs that apparently work well.

No $hit--I'd love to have air suspension but it just sucks to pay to restore something that was cheaper in the first place. I think Audi were trying to empty the parts bin... sigh.

I just dropped to 20s (I'll post some pics soon). The gap isn't making me happy either. I'm running Michelin Pilot 4S tires @295/30/20--so far, so good. I'll keep an eye here to see if you pull the trigger faster than me :-)

Just saying that convert to air ride is also an option since I have seen someone did it but would I recommend anyone to do so?
Hell no!

Yup, understood. Apologies, didn't intend to disagree... I meant to emphasize how much I'd like the air suspension (mostly for daily-driver looks... actually, no, entirely for that). [:)]

My apology too, I didn’t mean to sound angry in my response but rather funny that someone bought DRC setup only to get rid of it.

Did you make a decision on the lowering options? Retrofitting the air makes my stomach churn so I'm not going that route. That effectively leaves KW's HAS and H&R. I believe I read that the KW preserves DRC functionality (albeit reduced in effectiveness due to lesser potential travel), I'm not sure if the H&R option does. Still looking...

Mine is 2014 with standard air suspension so my options were only lowering links or lowering box in which I went with the latter.
Personally I would go with KW if I have DRC even though I would end up paying more since I can’t stand losing factory feature so if H&R is taking away DRC function then it is out of my consideration.
