on a casablanca white b5?

01-04-2006, 06:22 PM
as long as there were other carbon or black accents... but if everything is white and you throw a black lip on there.... prob not so much.

maybe if ya had carbon mirrors and black headlights. then mayyyyybe..

but i guess i would have to see it first...

01-04-2006, 06:49 PM
^^ Yes, the answer is NO.

true story..

typically, carbon fiber simply does not look good. BUT, it has looked good before, esp. on lighter cars like yours. If you put a carbon fiber lip spoiler on your trunk, and find a carbon fiber FRONT lip spoiler for the bottom of your bumper to match and ave your lowers painted, i think it might look good.

in any other case, no probably look terrible

I think it's entirely up to you. Everyone has their own opinion I personally like it. But I also have to agree that it depends on if you're only going to be running the trunk lip and nothing else then maybe I wouldn't do it. My everyday setup is CF hood, and trunk lip. But my show set up is totally different. So I would say to use your own judgement only you know what you want.

Have you guys seen the 25th quattro S4? It has a carbon fiber lip on it, and I think is looks good.

take one of the most easily abused parts on a street car and make it out of an extremely expensive material just for looks?

sounds like a winning plan to me.

01-05-2006, 11:12 AM
lol, a lot of people run CF lips taped up to protect their investment. look waaaaay better than a "normal" lip...

masking tape is the new random chinese character sticker

one step forward, two steps back.

two words that seem to get lost when it comes to modding these cars: practical value.

01-05-2006, 12:59 PM
it is expensive ofocurse compared ($70) to a regular lip ($30). i think you guys are correct i'll juts get a regular one with regular eyelids...now i need to decide if i should paint them myself or let a shop do it...

01-05-2006, 01:01 PM
Save your $$$ and leave the eyelids off as well.

01-05-2006, 01:03 PM
^^^ so no eyelid? why?

01-05-2006, 02:42 PM
the eyelids can give the car a droopy eyed high kid look.

as long as you prep and primer it well you shouldn't have any problems painting the lip yourself. the lip will see it's share of abuse so you may end up painting it again down the road anyway.

01-05-2006, 02:57 PM
i like that look...btw besides performance cafe, where do you guys think i could get casa white from?

01-05-2006, 03:33 PM
looking "good" is a personal prefrence question do YOU like it ?

01-05-2006, 04:57 PM
well..i've already came to decision that i should just get the plain one and paint. the question now is: should i paint it myself or let the shop do it...if i'm gonna do it myself i have to find casa white

01-05-2006, 06:39 PM
I agree with Evil. Just leave them off and save up for a better mod.

01-05-2006, 08:17 PM
Here's a look...

01-05-2006, 08:57 PM
lol dont do it man, even if u have somethin to match...unless u painted ur car black

01-05-2006, 11:03 PM
I dont think he has a full kit. CF lip on a stock bumper would look kinda shitty

01-05-2006, 11:06 PM
just look at my car and think carbon fiber and not black.. i thnk it looks good.. [a4]

01-06-2006, 12:06 AM
^^^ well i'm starting a whole strict black and white only theme. that's why i thought it would match. but then again lip spoiler should match the paint.

hodl on i think there is a misunderstanding here...i'm talking about Rear M3 lip spoiler.

01-06-2006, 11:01 AM
OH.....my bad.... well give me some time cause i'm gettin one soon

01-06-2006, 11:04 AM
oh. rear spoiler should be color matched. carbon might look cool but could also look like an afterthought.

01-06-2006, 12:16 PM
yeah that's what i thougt. how much do you think shop will charge for painting it. because i def don't have the place.
