HIT. If it look liek that, I'd sport one of those too. Mark my words. The old school 70-74 Challengers were my personal favorite out of all the muscle cars. I love Mopars. My dad had the Dukes of Hazzard body 69 Charger. That thing hauled ass.
I really do hope Dodge releases this car and keeps it as close to the prototype as they can.

That's what an American muscle car should look like. The whole Chrystler 300 "I want to be a Bently" look never really worked for me, and neither did the Pontiac Monaro, umm, GTO. Both are great cars, but just not classics.

All cars (including american muscle cars) need to reflect the time and technology of their era.
I'm opposed to retrostyling because it goes against this notion and does not accurately represent a generation's progress. Lets compare the B5 to the B7 for instance. When the B5 came out, everyone applauded its styling and how it rekindled interest in Audi to the mass automotive market. Hell, I gave up my B4 to purchase my B5 because it was a beautiful car. VW's B5 passat set a whole new benchmark in styling that's been imitated too many times to mention.
The B7 sits on the shoulders of the B5 and doesn't hold its own against it. Most of us dislike the "big mouth" grille despite the fact that it harkens back to Audi's "glory days". Its too bad because the 2.0 fsi engine could really usher in a new era (as well as new TDi technologies via the R10).
I fcuk you not, These are Audi's glory days. The R8 has had the most 24 hour Lemans wins in the history of the race. Not since quattro turned rally racing on its ear has Audi had it so good.
The same goes for American muscle cars. The industry has been revitalized by an influx of german car monies and engineers and its showing. The new american muscle cars need to reflect the time and the technology of our era and not look backwards like its doing.
Look at Cadillac. The new CTS and STS models look nothing like their predecessors. They're making a name for themselves on the track and building on that success. People want these cars because of what they can do, not because of what they remind us of. The rest of the industry should follow their successful lead and not look back.
IMHO . . . of course. [cool]

well put, maxh20.
although I do like the exterior of the charger, the interior looks like an updated 1970's car.

If Dodge can stick to that like Ford stuck to the Mustang, the Challenger will be a winner. Me, I love the old muscle cars and would love to have one, but not at the 100G+ price for the one I want. I can deal with one thats new and updated thats around 30g that I can lease and not worry about driving around town. I love the looks, Im sold.

Chrysler/Dodge had incredible cars back in the 60/70's ... and now they're back with a modern style (Magnum, Charger, Challenger...)! The Hemi had to make a come-back!!!

if the 6.1 Hemi goes into that, itll be hot!
i think america's making some damn decent cars these days:
Covette (base and Z06), Cadillac CTS-V and STS-V, 300c SRT-8, Viper and Ram SRT-10, new Monte-Carlo SS with 28mpg 5.3 V8. Even the new Mustang is pretty good
