hmm, do something different
standalone engine managment, and a huge turbo with a fmic should be alot less than 5 grand. then you can spend the rest on a clutch.

Maybe because he only has $5k to spend :P

If your looking for power

K04 with PC 16 setup
FMIC
Exhaust
Clutch(if your still on the stock)

Might even be able to get a CF if there is money left over.

LOL, you'r kidding right?

Just the stand alone will cost nearly the full $5k once its all done and finished believe me I KNOW.

Plus the fact that he would need a FMIC, full 3" exhaust with custom DP, big injectors, walbro 255 fuel pump and then that clutch.

What, did Santa accidentally leave one of his credit cards at your house on Christmas? ha ha

I'd spread the wealth a little bit.

Go with some tasteful body mods - S4 sides, RS4 front bumper, grille, and 1 piece HID headlights.

Performance: Turbo upgrade (K04 for dependability, BT if you are aggressive), FMIC, brake upgrade & exhaust.

That should be a good start with maybe some $$$ left over if you can do some of the work yourself. [:)]

Sell the car and put the $5k with that money and get an s4.

do this:

k04
ATP or kinetic mani
pc-16
FMIC
strong clutch
some type of brake upgrade
ecodes/hid's
Exhaust incl. DP
TP
Paint the front/rear valences and sides
CF hood

If you can do alot of the work yourself, you might just be able to do all that for under 5k.

$5k doesn't go as far as you'd think it would. I suggest taking a realistic approach. With the K04 upgrade, you'll get the larger injectors and have to reflash your ecu. With increased horsepower you'll need increased stopping power. Upgrade your brakes. Frankly I don't think you'll have enough money left over to do your clutch, but if you do, thats what I'd do next.

Its really 5gs for K04 upgrade?!? My estimate was: K04 + hardware ($1000), Injectors ($250), Chip ($500), Install ($500), front brakes ($400). Sell old chip (~$350) so that would be about $2,300. Am I missing something?

Actually, if he looks out for some good deals on used or unused stuff he should come in way under budget.

K04 + Hardware would be more like $750. He might need a FMIC also, add $800. Also, you really don't NEED front brakes, I'm still running stock brakes on my car and they seem to be doing ok.

Correct about the brakes, they are only need if he plans on using the brakes more for track events. Hell even I still have stock brakes and make 400 whp.

I literally had that typed in here and was about to post it.

Don't listen to these reasonable assholes. Go STG III and never look back. Why don't you want it?

Or...piece together a K04 kit, install it yourself, new front rotors/agressive pads, definitely install those yourself, and save the rest for shit you actually need. If I had 5Gs right now, it would get invested/saved immediately. As much as I want to buy go-fast goodies, I just can't afford to.
